Re: 66 Slick
That black button above your ignition switch is for your windshield washer. O.D. transmissions usually have a pull handle under the dash for activation.survivorman wrote:I have a 3 on the tree and I think it is the 3 speed with the OD. How does one tell this? I have a black push button just above the starter switch is this it?
C6 transmissions are, IMO, the best Automatic Transmissions for FE motor applications... tough as nails. There are great information articles on this site to help you with your Dura Spark conversion as well... I've still got points in my FE, but Dura Spark is the way I'm goin' in the future.
I tend to be a purist so I like to keep my Trucks "TRUCKS"... having the ability to work and such. Most of your modifications take your Truck away from that direction for me. Doesn't mean I don't like what your plans are, just not my cup of tea.
I've had about 4 or 5 '65 & '66 F series trucks... LOVED them all. By all means follow your heart and your wallet with your plans. Not enough of these Great ol' Trucks left so keep em' alive!
