Its been 2 months since an update and all has been well. I just wasn't driving it much because of the header leak and I was too busy with school work to fix it.

So yesterday I brought it to work and gave it a good bath. Today I worked on getting the passanger side headers sealed up good and change out the belts. The chore ended up turning into an all day even in which nothing went right. It was stuck bolt in the alternator and the header not wanting to come off. I finally got it off and bent the flanges back to normal. After 10 hours of work I got everything back together and had finally ran out of things to fix. Gave it a quick test start to check and all is well. Gonna drive it tomorrow and hope it stays sealed.

If it stays sealed up I am going to be driving it a lot more and enjoying the good exhasut noise!

Motor is out. Feels kind of weird since I drove it home from work yesterday morning and now the engine is in the garage. Got started on the dissasembly of the motor some too. Plan to have it cleaned and maybe up to a machine shop tomorrow to have the new cam bearings put in. Hopefully I can get all the repairs done that I want to in quick amount of time.

I plan on changing out the heads, lifters and push rods, cam, clutch, and trans. While I have it out I am going to replace all of the seals, freeze plugs, and the water pump. Maybe other stuff as I go along.

Im totally diggin the headache rack. I had made one for my bump but it looks better as a cattle gaurd for the grill than a rack. Great work looking forward to more pics and updates!

Here is some pics of the engine removal and the carnage. All in all it wasn't running too bad considering what it looked like. The pics show the worst cylinders (7 & 4), not all of them were that bad. I dropped the motor off yesterday at the machine shop. This will be my first attempt at doing most of a rebuild myself. We will see how it goes. Click on the pics to make them larger.

Nice Truck.
I like your mirrors. I can't decide what to do with mine. What size are the mirror heads and was it difficult to mount a larger mirror to brackets? I'm assuming you used camper special mirror brackets. Do you have any close up pictures of them?
