Does anyone live in or near Nanty Glo? I'm looking for any info on Bob Simmers Ford. This is the dealership where my truck was originally purchased. Pictures of the showroom or dealership would be awesome! I have done a search on the net and did get some info but no photos. Apparently the name changed to Freedom Ford in the late '90s and moved to a new location. Hopefully this post will be found by someone who has some info to share.

Thanks Jeff, I actually saw that license plate frame myself. I was interested until I saw he wanted $27 plus shipping. It would have cost me over $36! Cool item, but I'm not even sure they had those back in 1971. I figured it may be from the late 70s.
Thanks for the offer hdpusher! I'll PM my e-mail to you.I was in the glovebox and started looking over the original warranty card and other paper work. That's what prompted me to start the search.

I bet it would be cool to walk around that building. One of the local ones here in town had a frieght elevator, the showroom was on two upper floors and the basement was storage and new car prep. Main floor was service. Very cool buidling.
BTW, I'd jump on that plate or wait and offer the guy something
Yeah in Milpitas,Ca The Great Mall Of the Bay area is a large part of the old San Jose plant, they incorporated few of the older cars in there including skyliners and starliners.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

I just took a better look at the photo. (I didn't realize it maximized when clicked... ). Where the heck is the lot? I guess they didn't have to many vehicles to chose from at the dealer. Then again, ordering your vehicle was what most people did back then anyway.
Reminds me of a story my dad told me. He and my mother lived in Illinois back in the 60s for awhile. He had ordered a brand new Dodge Dart but got layed off and had to come back to New York. They had been waiting for weeks for the car and had to cancel before they left. He swears they passed it on the car carrier on their way out of town head to NY. He was hoping it would arrive so they had a reliable car to travel back in. Damn Murphy's Law...
