Our Civic has about 75000 miles on it, it gets 32-35 on the highway and aside from maintenance the only thing it has ever needed is a battery under warranty at 35000 miles (cost me zero except 50 phone calls from Honda wanting to make sure I was happy)
Say what you want but they are good cars and they build more stuff in America than most American companies...
Glad you got it taken care of, those accords are somewhat notorious for grenading distributors...I thought there was a special policy on them, but maybe not or perhaps it expired.

i was not aware of any warrenty but i will definately check into that if i can get honda to give me money back that would be great but not sure they will since i had a private shop do it. you guess will get a kick out of the shop. They specialize in Fords they only started working on other makes 3 years ago

Did a little checking, I guess it was the earlier ones and they extended the warranty on them to 75,000/6 years, so I'm guessing there would be no help...
Sounds like you had some maintenance done too, timing belt and waterpump...
Sorry it was something so costly, but sure glad you got it squared away.

Overall they arent bad cars. A co-worker owns an 89 Civic with 250,000 miles, by buddys 1990 had 330,000 miles, his current ride is a 99 civic with 141,000. I looked for a Honda when I bought my Toyota, unfortunately they were like trying to find hens teeth when gas was $4 a gallon. Its just one of those things that happens, But hopefully you have everything fixed up and good to go. With Gas prices estimated to reach betweeb $4-5 this summer, you will be VERY happy you own it and its still getting 30+ mpg. People like me will be travelling less, and my poor bump may not get out of my litle community.
