OT Anyone play online video games?

Post by ford4x4fun »

I don't watch a lot of TV or Play video games unless I am deployed. Not much else to do when you do have down time. Anyhow I have started playing Star Trek Online, my first online video game I have played since Star Craft. Pretty fun thus far, PVP action could be better but overall not a bad game. Something to pass the off hours besides sleeping, or running on a treadmill.

A long ways from Star Trek, but I have been known to play checkers online. Been a while though. When I used to deploy we had the good old projector, and movies by the hanger bay. 8) Then along came the VCR, man talk about seventh heaven.  Then there was the Sunday Steel Beach BBQ. Stay safe, and stay in. It is worth it when you retire in middle age. Also nothing like serving the country. Of course 20 in the military is like 40 in civ. life.(Just the thoughts of a young at heart Navy Chief).
Thank you

I play STO, Have my own fleet no less handle is @ jewkesman with out the space of course. i was wondering if they let something like that use the network, or do you have to hit a net cafe to play it?

what level you get to? Lt. or Lt. Cmndr? Captain?

I have been known to play str wars galaxies as well. and might try the new one The Old Republic when it comes out. been playing trek since it luanched. Think i'm gonna get the lifetime sub after 21 months it pays for its self plus there is extra content they let you have.

Look me up if you want to.

In my room I have to local internets! Yeah they would freak if I was to plug my laptop in and go to town on my military network. I am a LT CDR, at the moment to little gold bars from my 3rd ship. I will look you up, I am usually on when most people on your side of the world are asleep! I don't know if I could do the lifetime thing considering I wont play it when I get home and probably cancel my subscription. But it is fun while over here!

I play Bad Company 2 and TF2. Love GTA IV online. Can't wait for Duke Nukem Forever. It's a winter thing. As soon as spring hits I don't touch the dang thing.

Sir, I always wondered what the Officers were doing in there down time, as I kicked back in the CPO mess during mine. You don't get a lot, but it is good when you do get it.

Here is my fleet Logo you can wear these on your shoulder and on the topside of your saucer if your in a fleet that has them. also my main characters mugshot. i have started a klingon Orion slave girl Captain who is an LT cmdr, and two other alts as everytime the level cap hits it's boring doing just dailies and with crafting the klingons have dailies that atleast hadn you the materials 25% faster than the feds.

Last game I played online was CounterStrike. Haven't tried any of the MMP's yet.

Been playing a Neverwinter NIghts campain the last few months, it's slow going and time consuming so I haven't gotten to far but it is a distraction and something to do when I get home from work at 4 or 5 in the morning.

I guess I'm an oddball because I don't do video/computer games. I'll go out in the woods or the shop and find something to occupy my mind and hands. IMHO whoever invented WOW should be shot! :x It's an addiction & It's worse than heroin because it's legal. I agree to each his own, but lot's of people (& not just kids) miss out on the finer things in life by spending every waking moment playing screen games. OK, that's my rant. :2cents:

Ha Ha I agree, but in my current position going outside and playing wood get me shot and drug through the streets. Personally I would be fine not being broadcast on Aljazeer news. But back home! I am outside fishing/boating, working on the house, or doing something with the kids. But in my current position, I am content spending my idle time blankly gazing into a computer screen. Gives me a chance to forget all my worries!
