UPS is responsible, as they did not get a signature or physical body to leave the package with. Submit a UPS claim, they will pay. PITA, but at least you are not screwed.

You can have UPS hold an item for you and then go pick it up. FedEx will do the same thing. If I know I won't be home for something major like that, I have a hold put on it. If they deliver it anyway and it gets stolen, they are responsible.

The UPS guy delivered something to me once but he dropped it at a house about a block away and said he delivered it to me. When I called them about it the records showed the mistake and of course the person they delivered it to had no clue. UPS ended up paying for it and the company I ordered from sent another one.

Im working with the shipper. The ups driver who delivered it came by the house and verified he had left it there. My aunt even came by and saw the pakage but kicked it to the side and did'nt bring it in...that was ONE hour before I came home...arg. Im going to be working on a claim but I didnt have delivery confirmation. ups will cover the first 100 bucks. but the attitude im getting from them now is we delivered it we did our job. I mean its true the shipper got paid for a part he shipped it the shipping company dropped it off at my house like they were sapposed to. just somebody decided they needed it more than me... :x ...it really is unfortunate, I at least hope they use it versus selling if for whatever vise there into. Im going to start getting my parts delivered to the shop. I just NEVER thought in my neighbor hood which is mostly senior citizens and familys that this could happen. I literally grew up on this street. I know all my neighbors.....I felt safe. oh well next paycheck ill get another one and make sure it comes to the shop and then it will go right onto my new 390. THATS the good news. Thanks for listening to my rant guys it really does help to let a lil steam off.

Same thing happened to me with a brand new Holley carb. They wound up having to replace it.
Good luck with them.

My dad had this happen with a set of nerf bars for his 2010 Dodge, We never did figure out what happened to them, but UPS did cover them. The driver said he left them on the porch. . . . . . . But in this case we believe it was delievered to the wrong house and he wouldnt tell the truth about it.

Happened to me once, with computer stuff! UPS driver claimed it was on the porch. Two days later I found the stuff on my neighbors porch...they were out of town! I got lucky. I hope they make it right for you!!
