Praying for your brother, you, and your family. I pray that God pours down on your family a great peace during this time. Thank you for posting this.

Re: MELANOMA TAKING MY LITTLE BROTHER BRIAN
Thanks for all the kind thoughts, prayers, and words of encouragement. It really helps to hear other people's stories of how they dealt with these kinds of situations. I lost my Dad in '05-he was my reason for getting the first '69 I got in '06, and the reason I joined this board. He would have been so pleased with the truck I have now-I learned to drive in a '70 model very similiar to it-wish I could have taken him for a ride in one. Brian is a good man, worked hard all his life, raising two fine boys, devoted wife-just seems soooo unfair that this has happened to him. Hoping to understand some day...
Not going to post a link, but if anyone is on Facebook, there is a page dedicated to him called "BOP Fights Melanoma"...describes his story and his battle with melanoma...Thanks again to all your support.

Re: MELANOMA TAKING MY LITTLE BROTHER BRIAN
All I can say, from my own personal experience with my sisters 18 year battle with cancers (yes, that is plural, 3 different kinds of cancer) is to cherish every moment, and remember all the good stuff. It doesn't take away the pain, but it does make it a little more bareable. Also, ask him if there is something special you can do for him in YOUR in life, and try your best to honor it. Don't beat yourself up if you can't, though, as long as you try that is what matters.
Oh, and talk to him once in awhile after he is gone. It might sound silly, but share a silly moment or a dumba$$ thing you've done, and don't be afraid to tell him about it. He might not be there to tell you your a dumba$$, but that's not the important part about doing so.
It helps me to carry on my sisters (and my fathers, and my mothers) memories, and I hope it will work for you too.
Best of luck, and remember to be positive for him, now, and after.
Peace be with you, and know you are not alone.

Robert - I really support your posting about this. I have had several Basal Cells removed over the past 6 years and go to a Dermatologist regularly and encourage EVERYONE to do so at least every year. And if the Doctor you are seeing doesn't want you to take all your clothes off and doesn't take pictures of any suspicious moles or spots so they can compare at your next visit ... Get A New Doctor!!! A good Dermatogist is worth looking for.
