Post by fbomb100 »

well new to me  its a 68 short bed runs good just fix the carb (2bbl) I'll put pics up in a few days, its alot better than my 71 as in the way of running and a cleaner bed . paint is bad ( but i don't care )I run this for doing some side work entell I get work. then I'll put my crown vic set up on this one and build from there
the guy said its a rebuilt 390 but the vin saids its a 360. I'll pull a check in the next day or so to see if its a 390 or 360! is got the ***** fmx in it and not the c6  ,that ok I have a fe c6 trans laying around ..so I'll rebuild that one and I' think I my will do it my self,,the rear ends not a 9" but looks the one who had it before him put a chevy 10 bolt in it lol ,I got to look up what rear end it is too .. no p/s but I'll rob it from my 71.its has p/b on all four dummys

probably the easiest way to check with out pulling the entire engine out would be to remove the oil pan and the crank or pull on of the heads and measure the stroke

you may have a Dana 60 in your truck. i have a D60 in my F100 and its a 5 lug so its possible i have seen other F100 with a 5 lug D60

Here is how to check the stroke of the engine to tell what you have.
Get a straight 12 inch piece of coat hanger wire. Get a magic marker. Remove the number 1 and number 4 spark plugs. Turn the engine over until the timing mark is at TDC. Put the wire in the number 1 spark plug hole with wire resting on the top of the piston. Make a mark on the wire even with the lip on the valve cover. Now move the wire over to the number 4 cylinder and mark the wire again. Measure the distance between the two marks.

3.78 is the stroke for the 390 and 3.5 is the stroke for the 352 and 360 engines.

Looks like a nice truck. Short beds are getting harder to find. I like the Mustang floor shifter.

'F' imageshack, clicked on the first pic and I get the Iexplorer 'you have a bug' pop up.

Dud, direct link your pics on photobucket instead of dealing with buggy imageshack...
