Another Blue Oval in the Driveway

Post by fomocoguy »

Well, I finally made a Ford fan out of my girl. After going through two later model GM's (a 05 Malibu Maxx and an 06 Chebby HHR) and not being real happy with either of them, I traded in the HHR on an 07 Ford Freestyle. It's got 62k on it and is in like new condition. So far we love it! It drives like a nice solid car and not like an econobox, and it gets 26mpg on the highway. The HHR never got better than 23, and it was a four cylinder and weighed 1000lbs less than this car! The 203hp 3.0 runs real sweet, and the CVT trans keeps it in the optimal rpm range at all times. I don't know much about them so I went ahead and bought an extended warranty, but I doubt we'll need it. Here's a pic:
Image
It's cavernous on the inside compared to the HHR and has seating for seven. She hasn't stopped thanking me for getting it. 8)
Oh, and the best part is I got it for $10,891. The book retail is upwards of $14k! Having a dad that sold cars for 15 years definetly taught me a thing or two about handling myself at a big dealership...

, Awesome! It's always nice to bring another Ford into the driveway. I've been trying to talk my mom into getting rid of her Suburban for an Explorer or Expedition for a while .

Yep, I'm not sure why I wrote Fusion but I fixed it! Thanks for the catch. Between the Fusion, Flex, Freestyle, and Fiesta I tend to say the wrong name once in awhile...

Sweet ride - I really like the new Fords. 26 mpg...that's as good as my 4-cylinder 1998 CRV. Hmm, I'll give you the CRV plus $10000 for it!

I bought the same exact car for my wife 2007 Tan. I paid about 1000 dollars more than you did about a year ago. I don't know if you can check the history on the car, but I feel it is a good thing you got the extended warranty. The throttle body has an issue that will start making the car rev its motor. To my knowledge Ford hasn't recalled it yet. I got it fixed and it has been running good ever since. Not that it was a big deal but it was expensive to fix.

My wife only gets about 22 MPG from her car running on the highway. It is one of the nicest cars I have ever had. My wife loves it, and it has plenty of room. and it rides like a Lincoln Town Car. I am reading back through what I wrote, and by no means am I trying to put down the car I just thought I would let you in on the possible bad. Enjoy the car!

That is a nice looking Ford. That is good MPG. My wife got a 2010 Escape last April, and we both love it. We get an ave of 22 MPG with it. It is the six with 4 wheel drive. Vicki and I  2 :drive: Fords.

That's a nice looking outfit and seems like a great price. I'd like to get an additional vehicle like that for my wife to tote the kids around but she won't give up her

I got the front wheel drive version. Better on mileage, like you said, my Aunt and Uncle have an all wheel drive version, same year I believe but they are in MI with the snow so they kinda needed it. But yeah as far as the throttle body that is the only real problem I have read or had with the car. Congrats again on the new car!
