9mm? In Australia you'd get busted with a toy spud gun and get in serious trouble, but then the next day a drunk 18 year old bogan would smash a glass of beer in your face, you'd lose an eye and half your teeth and he'd get off with a caution....strange state of affairs.

Back to the thread I have fuses, bulbs, CD's, my 5 year old daughters drawings of random stuff and some windscreen anti fogging stuff,

Gloves you say? why didn't I think of that!

Gloves stay on the dash, or in the house and used when needed, that way they stay room temp, and in the cold are warm. cold gloves in a cold truck in the snow and ice just make it worse. Especialy when scraping a window.

Now insurance and reg stay in the box along with a flashlight, fresh unused batteries for the flash light, spare bulbs for the truck and flash light fuses fuse puller that works on both ato/mini ato and glass.
Ice scraper with built in brush. and assorted tools and tiny spare parts.

My glove box is on the shelf in the shop. Never got around to putting the new one from the pull a part in it. I have a home built center console/drink holder that is more easily accessible. In it I keep all of my paper work and normally either a .38 or .357 mag. I do have a conceal carry but I guess I should put the glove box liner back in as it might come on handy one day.

Behind my Glove Box door (autographed by George Barris) is ... a Vintage Air evaporator/condensor and hoses & wires.

I no longer have a place in the dash to put stuff. Instead have a portable console thing sitting on my bench seat I got at a Pep Boys a long time ago for Paperwork, spare change, etc..

I work for the U.S. government. Nothing is allowed in a vehicle on base unless it came on the vehicle or you have a reciept for it. I had a buddy take his daughter fishing on a weekend and forgot to take the fishing rods out. They now belong to Uncle Sam. A lot of the guards and MPs let little stuff slide. Some don't.
I do carry TP in my glovebox though.

Registration and insurance cards, small note book, couple dollars worth of change, implements of scribble, business cards and yes, gloves  . The rest of the stuff gets stored in a big wooden box that is anchored to the front of the bed.

Things sure have changed since 82. All I had to do was register my firearms with the Security Police and I was fine with them in base housing or in my car. No fishing poles ever taken either. lol Even fired at the base firing range several times.

Just the registration, owners manual, proof of insurance, and log book of anything I do to the bump. (Keeping good records will help the kid/grandkid that gets the 68 when my time is up.) Keep all else in the console I built, or in the bed tool box.

Thanks Ryan, that is a pet peeve of mine as well.

As for mine, don't have a glovebox in her yet, may never get one depending upon what I plan on works or not.

I don't know what base your on, but in 12 years of active duty, I haven't had to ever give up anything in my car or truck in the many searches I have been through (I Don't Bring Restricted Items On Post Like My Pistol Even With my Concealed Weapons Permit They Don't Like It).
