Yea, I worry about that in my saws and mowers.
eth-gas seems to gum up faster to me also..
I think it's more prone to absorb moisture too.
I haven't had much trouble with my saw so far,
but I sure read lots of stories about eth-gas
messing them up. Same for boats too..
I probably oughta dump the gas out of my saw,
and run it dry. Then only add gas when I actually use
it, and then run it dry.
I've been keeping it stored with gas in the tank,
and that may bite me if I keep doing it.
The oil I use has gas stabilizer in it but it
still makes me nervous.

if you a temp gauge, most of you will notice a slight increase in tempature when running E-10 or higher, not enough difference to really hurt anything

I hadn't seen this thread in awhile, (and i simply won't run the ethanol based fuel in BC #!6)
A lot has changed in a few years as far as websites for information on this.
Here's one I found:

As well as a petition we should all be signing!

Its my understanding that many high octane (91) gases do not contain the ethanol. That is how it was explained to me by my uncle when I went elk hunting. He said he had cans of high octane for his generator for a couple of reasons. Mainly it ran better at higher elevation and much longer.

Bottom line is ethanol is a catalyst for emissions so it is here to stay. Simply put it is the fact that is has much less energy content that affects how well the vehicle runs and fuel milage. If you here anything about any mandates to push ethanol contents above 10%, I wouldn't worry about it for a while. Its not good for most cars and it is a more dangerous fire risk then regular to 10% blended gasoline. Any gasolines that contain more then 10% are extremely hard to put out as the water mixes with alcohol and eats foam. I know there is 85 blends but it is a very small percentage compared to typical gasoline. I would suspect it will take a large change in logistics and infrastructure to push higher blends of ethanol gas to market.

I personally am a big fan of E85. Whenever my 360 takes it's last breath I plan on building something with going high compression for e85. At the performance shop I work at we build alot of import cars, mainly subarus. Almost every performance 4 banger we build these days gets 10.5:1 pistons and run e85, it's a great power adder and is really nice up here at elevation...plus it smells good :P
