Corky Coker on American Pickers

Post by 71 LONG BED »

Anyone else see American Pickers last night? They sold 2 nice Ford neon dealership signs to Corky Coker. My wife couldn't believe I knew who the guy was. :P

I saw it  Those signs were killer 8) Did you see all the old Ford cars and trucks the guy had where they bought the signs? There was a red "bump" in one building. What got me was he had a '79 T-bird inside and a '64 R-code (427) Galaxy sitting outside. :hmm:

The dollar would have to be way devalued for me to pay $6500 for those signs... I think they added the parts of guys buying stuff just so the viewers didn't think they were just picking for the show and heck, I'm still not convinced.

BTW, I missed the part where they were buying them, getting a shower...

By the way, they make no mention of who he is, or that they are at Coker Tire Headquarters. They just call him by name. If you look way in the background you can see the Coker sign on the building.

It is kinda neat 71 long bed. They filmed an episode were i live. They "picked" Maynard's old barn and he really really gave em a hard time over the prices too. They were haggling over wicker furniture, 2 scales and a "getar" (as Maynard pronounced it)

I do remember that episode. Pretty good concept for a show. I like seeing what kinda stuff people have stuffed in their barns.

I was thinking the same thing! The car that was probably worth $20k the way it sat dirty and unrestored was out in a shed rotting for 20 years and cars worth a couple grand were in a climate controlled palace of a garage. I guess the nice cars were in there for the show factor when people look in his garage.

BTW, this is one of my favorite shows. I haven't missed an episode. I wanna be a picker!
