I don't see a "stereo" and your instrument panel looks like mine.

Before you change anything, you need to ask your self, "Why?"
If it ain't broke don't fix it.
So what if it's a hodge-podge of trucks? Anybody can build a stock truck. You've got one that's unique. It looks good to me. How's it run? Do the brakes work?

Thats a sweet truck dude, shortbox trucks especially stepsides are rarer than rocking horse droppings around these parts,i'm so jealous it ain't even funny.

I don't understand why you have a problem with the box on this truck- ford used the same "shorty" box on all the stepside trucks from the early 50's all the way up to the 80's -
As for the chevy fenders- if they're not rusted leave em be man,99.9% of the world couldn't tell the difference anyways-save the money for a set of mags :)
- still got my first first car 20+yrs later : 69 f100 sorta kinda pretending its a Mercury M100 w/a 70 f350 sport custom cab (factory buckets) 67 grille with 69 ranger cooneyes 68 merc box and hood, some supercool fiberglass fenders i scored way back when, 76 f150 disc brake frontend..currently running a 90 5.0HO 4bbl/c4 auto & 3.50 posi...originally a 360/c6 f100 Ranger with dealer added towpack (incl. kelsey hays trailer brake),boxside toolbox, behind the seat stowage & belly tank...only original parts left on 'er are the frame, rear end, rear springs, and rear bumper...

Don't beleive chevy ever had any that looked like those.

Those are no doubt Chevy fenders and it looks like a 90's Chevy rear bumper as well...The actual box is a Ford---usually sold separately from the fenders at aftermarket places...Nice find---if the fenders don't bother you, they don't bother me---can't see 'em from my driveway 8) ...I did hear once that Ford fenders increased performance, stamina, and that special lady in your life will----Oops! Wait!...Wrong commercial....

Oh the back fenders, i thought he meant the front fenders i don't consider bedsides fenders although certainly on step/flare side trucks suppose i could.

I did some research and the rear bumper is actually a nissan bumper.... I love the way the truck looks and am keeping everything the way it is. I have to replace the wood bed because it doesnt exist but that is easy. Right now I have the motor torn down because the PO decided to break and or drill out all the exhaust manifold bolts. I found a set of replacement heads for 75 a piece and picked them up. Currently I am working on cleaning and prepping the engine parts for reassembly. I have before and current pictures I will load shortly. I am keeping everything stock as of right now minus the headers:). Sorry for the delay in response I didnt notice a second page!!
What can I say..its a Ford and I wouldnt want it any other way!

In regards to the brakes..It has all 4 drums and I am having difficulties bleeding the front due to a brakeline bracket mounted right over the bleed..Does this require a special 90 degree wrench or do I just make my own? I replaced the master cylinder on the truck due to PO leaving the top off and contamination. The brakes work just a little squishy since I cant get all the air out of the front..any suggestions?

Brakes can be fun on these old trucks. Your best bet it to checkout the Suspension Steering and Brakes section. You should be able to get a box wrench on the bleeders. Also, if you haven't bench bled the master, you should start there.

Congrats on the new truck!

i'll bet it had the front wrecked and then replaced with a 69 grill iether it was the only one instock if it was a dealer fix, or the only one he could find years ago only straight grill in my local yard was off a 70. i used it. or perhaps the last owner or the original owner just loved the 69 so much. he may even have wrecked a 69 and bought the 72 and the 69's grill was still good? who knows after 40+ years. still a good looking truck. a nice restore with fresh paint. and you'll be good to go.
