Police: Man drove snowmobile in Hollywood Casino parking garage
By staff reports, February 23, 2011 The Sentinel - cumberlink.com | Posted: Wednesday, February 23, 2011 8:20 am

A Hummelstown man tried to pass himself off as a state trooper to security at Hollywood Casino after cameras caught him doing donuts on the top level of the parking garage with his snowmobile early Tuesday morning, according to state police at Harrisburg.

Steven G. Keller, 46, was at the casino in East Hanover Township earlier Monday evening, when casino security asked Keller to leave due to his level of intoxication, police said, adding that he left as a passenger in a car.

He returned around 3 a.m. on his snowmobile, telling security he was a Pennsylvania State Trooper and showing security an old Pennsylvania State Police patch that was sewn on his jacket, according to police.

Keller was later seen on security cameras driving his 1976 Yamaha Exciter snowmobile up a parking lot ramp and onto the top level of the parking garage, police said, adding that while on the top level, the cameras showed Keller doing donuts in the snow.

State police were called to assist security and Keller was taken into custody.

Gosh, can't a guy have any fun anymore? I just don't see the point in making a federal case out of a couple innocent donuts on the snowmobile...

MEN FINANCED ROAD TRIP WITH STOLEN JERKY: Two men were arrested in Somerset, Pennsylvania after police discovered they had stolen hundreds of dollars worth of Slim Jims to help finance a road trip. Police initially pulled over 37-year-old Michael Allen Graham and 35-year-old Edward Berry because their license plate looked like it was falling off. At that point the officer said he saw "a large amount of boxed and packaged beef jerky." According to authorities, the men acknowledged stealing jerky and Slim Jim display accessories from gas stations and auto parts stores to help fun a trip from West Virginia to New Stanton, Pennsylvania where a relative was having car trouble. The two were charged with receiving stolen goods. Their bond has been set at $20,000. (MSNBC)

This is an old one but it came to mind when I saw this thread.

AMISH TEEN CAUGHT AFTER BUGGY CHASE
LEON, N.Y. (WIVB) - He's accused of trying to make an escape from police in his horse and buggy. Now, an Amish teenager is facing charges in Cattaraugus County.

Sheriff's deputies say it happened last Monday in the early morning hours in the town of Leon. Deputies tell News 4 that they began chasing 17-year-old Levi Detweiler when he ran a stop sign on Cherry Creek Hill Road in his horse and buggy, then refused to stop for authorities.

And before the chase ended, Detweiller allegedly crashed the buggy while making an unsafe turn into a driveway and tried to escape on foot. He was eventually caught, and now he's facing a stack of charges including failure to stop, reckless endangerment, underage alcohol possession, and overdriving an animal.

Detweiler was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $500 bail.

I was this on the news last night!

Cops: Shoplifter Stuffed a Chainsaw Down His Pants

Oklahoma police say a shoplifter stuffed a chainsaw down his pants and tried to sneak out of the Ross Seed Co. in Chickasha.

"This is a little unique simply because of how large the item was," store manager Paul Horton told KFOR-TV.

Anthony Black, 21, was arrested after employees chased him from the store. One of the workers say they thought he was "crippled" because of the bulge in his pants and the way he was moving.

America's Dumbest Criminals -- Snohomish edition

Posted by John de Leon

Just after 3 p.m. Thursday, a man grabbed a ring from the hand of the owner of Johanna's Fine Jewelry Design, 1403 Ave. D, in Snohomish, and ranout of the store.

The owner later remembered that before the robbery he overheard the same man saying that he needed money to bail his girlfriend out of jail. The owner even heard the first name of the girlfriend.

Once police learned this information, they checked records at the Snohomish County Jail. Sure enough, a woman by the same name had just been bailed out of jail. Police contacted the bail bonds company that had arranged for the release and learned the man who paid the bond has used a ring for collateral.

Police were able to identify the robber and arrest him.
