just checking in on the forums here to see if you mounted your tires yet. Very happy to see you got it done and it looks fantastic in my opinion.

Forgive me as I'm sure you've covered this but did you ad any lift to your truck or is this a stock hiboy ride height?

looks so awesome man, big time jealous here!

Thank you Dave! Appreciate the feedback from everyone. I did not have to lift the truck at all. The front tires do seem close to the fender like 4 inches away. But I have not had them rub at all. They give the truck a whole differant look, Now I just got to find a snow plow.....

I think the truck looks great, but I do think it would look really cool if you put maybe a helper leaf on the front or something to that effect to "level" out the suspension (definetly if your thinking of a plow). I'm gonna do that on mine here shortly. Just my opinion; I like a 4x4 to sit level. Mine drops about 2 inches from front to back and it drives me nuts... :2cents:

I really thought about doing something with the front, the truck has always been a little tailhigh. The only thing that keeps me from going ahead with that is that I haul heavy loads often. like a full cord of wood in the bed and a 10ft long cabover camper, when im loaded up the truck sits level or maybe a little tail low. Not sure how I would be able to get around that one. I dont think I want to put air bags on the rear axle because I take the camper up into the Seirras and usually 4x4 into remote fishing spots, Ive heard the air bags dont do well with full articulation like that kind of driving would require....But I agree it would look better if it were leveled out...and I would have to do something especially If I got a plow on the front of that thing. I do have some f350 springs and overloads Id like to put in the back that would probibly keep the back end from dipping down much with a load then I could get the front up a little bit to make it look better..... :hmm:

I can understand that. I know a truck looks kinda wimpy with it's tail hangin down with a full load! I just wonder if you'll get some rubbing with a plow. Maybe a little lift all around would be in order? The F350 springs would probably make it ride pretty rough during unloaded driving I would think...

mine squats in front pretty good when I lift my snow plow.

A good friend of mine is giving me a set of hiboy leafs from a 76, I'll be putting those under my 70 this summer. See, my back springs are fair but my front springs have no arch left in them... they are actually reverse arched they have sagged so badly. Seriously, they aren't even straight, they are reverse arched!

So, we looked at my buddies hiboy parts truck which is sitting with an engine in it and the springs are arched the correct way with at least 3" rise from the axle pad area to the spring eyes. i'm currently about an inch negative with the same measurement done on my truck the way it is today. So I should go up an easy 4" in front.

As much as I'd love to run 9.00 16's I'll probably end up running a 255/85R16 in a BFG MTR ,tall and skinny.

I know guys that actually air bag the front axle on plow trucks to help support the plow weight.

Especially with the new V-plows that hang out front so far, they are heavier and they have more leverage over your springs so it's pretty common to bag the front axle in those cases.
