Sadly, my youngest brother, Brian, 41, passed away Saturday morning, March 5th, due to complications from Melanoma cancer. Still trying to come to grips with it all-he was a cool guy, funny, great father and brother, and a Marine, like myself, as well as an IT Specialist with the FBI for the last 5 years. He will be missed severely. I rented a Mercury Grand Marquis here in Little Rock and drove 2 and a half hours to the Memphis area to my mom's and met up there with my other younger brother and sister. We then drove 12 and a half hours to West Virginia. His funeral was on Wednesday, March 9th, with military honors, including a 21-gun salute and Taps. 2 Marines were there to fold the flag and do the honors. On Thursday, we drove 9 hours to Canton, GA, and he was buried in the Georgia National Cemetary on Friday, with military honors. I have never been to a funeral where so many people who were not family were so devestated by someone's passing-that is a tribute, and a legacy, to the person he was. Everyone who knew him wanted to be around him, and be friends with him-he always had a joke or funny story, loved sports, and you always felt better after you were around him. SEMPER FI, little brother...you stand guard up there, I will hold the fort down here until my time comes...
My original post about him is here: http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... =2&t=56311

Re: UNFORTUNATE UPDATE-MY BROTHER PASSED AWAY MARCH 5TH
Robert,
I also send my condolences to you and your family. I had the honor to wear my uniform for the first time in some 25+ years a few years back at my close friend's military funeral at Bushnell National Cemetery in Florida. A national cemetery is such a humble and honorable place for anyone to be laid to rest. Your family should be honored and very proud of your brother.
From the 3rd generation veteran...again, I thank you and your family for his service so that I may sit here as a free man.
