1967 F250 Restore
Well since I could not get the truck to start I thought might as well start to restore it sooner then later. That and I have a boy on the way. So because of that might as well get to work on it. I took these pictures before new years of what the truck looked before. The truck has Minor rust to the underside, drip rail, and by the radiator. Keep in mine I'm not an expert mechanic just a hobbyist with the ability to read and listen to other people's ideas. The goal for January is to have it almost down to the frame with the cab, bed, and motor out. With that I started work on 31st but had to stop early due to a nagging work related injury. So with any look when I'll be able to start up soon i.e. Thursday after work. I'll keep everyone posted thanks..... Hopefully the link to Photo bucket works….http://s1184.photobucket.com/albums/z32 ... 20restore/

Nice start on a good truck. Not to much rust to speak of.

Re: 1967 F250 Restore
Well the three days off I was able to drop the gas tank that was full of gas out followed by topping off both my other cars with the gas that was in the tank since it was fresh gas. Prior to that, was spent getting the skid plate of so I could get to the gas tank. That was followed by tanking the rear bumper and tailgate off. Loosen all bed the bed's bolts so on my next 4 day will hopefully get the bed off and start on the cab. Could have gotten more done but had to deal with a vet trip and a sick wife. I will post some updated photos in three days or so. Now that I know that photobucket works i will be able to use it.......

Re: 1967 F250 Restore
Ok so I did some more work. Got the bed of and got about 3/4 of the cab stripped out. Start a little bit of work on the front end. Any thoughts on how to properly take out the windshield the front windshield. The seal around it is on and not coming of easy. Here is a link for the updated pics......

This plan will tell you ALL you need to know unless you want to save your windshield gasket.

Looking good! I feel your pain looking at this picture!
How many of the bed bolts were like that one?

Re: 1967 F250 Restore
Thanks for the comments; at basketcase0302 those were the only two bolts that gave me problems due to the rust factor. All though all the bolts on the bed will be replaced and I did have to grind down one more bolt on the front bumper. At FormerMarine1981 the link is helpful but the question is my seal around the window is one piece. I'll try to get a picture up on that soon. Currently I am getting ready to pull the motor out and have all front grill assemblies off. I just received the build sheet for the truck but I am confused. I do believe my truck is a camper special but it does not mention it on that the sheet. Could that option be up graded when purchasing the truck from the dealership??? It appears to have all the extras a camper special would have. Well I get more info on what is in progress with some pictures of what is being down this week...

I'm pretty sure all of the windshield gaskets are one piece. A far as I know thats the easiest way to get a windshield out of these trucks.

Re: 1967 F250 Restore
A little update, I have not been able to get much don lately due to work. But I do have the front end torn down, motor and transmission out. Still have a couple of things to take out of the inside of the cab. Having trouble with the wipers coming out. So as it stands in the next week or two I will be prepping the frame for POR 15. So just I’m trying to figure out how much of POR 15 to buy. So here is a link of some photos. http://s1184.photobucket.com/albums/z32 ... eb%20work/

Re: 1967 F250 Restore
So it's been a while and not much work done to the truck due to work. Until now. After the carefully reading the article about taking out the front windshield out was able to do that and it only took me about two painful hours. That was followed by five minutes for the rear window. I finished taking everything out of the inside of the cab, with the exception of the wiper blades and assembly. I did get the wiper motor out. I got a cool tip from fordman about was about to pick up a AM radio for my 67 for 5 bucks plus 10 for shipping on ebay. Now to figure out how to put and here to put a modern stereo without destroy the cab of the truck. I was able to take off the front brake lines without stripping them as well.
Today I was finally about to get the cab of the frame. First it was the doors which came of easy and in 10 minutes. Then that was followed by the cab. The bolts came out easy and my buddy I were able to place the cab on crib base until the temporary stand was made for it. Once the stand was made and the on duty crew was able to swing by my house to help place the cab on the stand.
So after cleaning the garage, I only have a day in half to work on the truck next before a min vacation. So it's prepping the frame and when I get back POR 15 the frame. I have many thing on the mind for the truck but I have to get ready for work. Enjoy the pictures http://s1184.photobucket.com/albums/z32 ... t%20three/
Hope the link works and thanks for the help.....

Re: 1967 F250 Restore
Ok,
So it's been a little bit since I've been able to do anything with the truck, due to work, multiple baby showers, setting the baby’s room, haz-mat school, etc. When I get off work I plan on working on the frame, but I have a couple of questions. First how do the cab mounts come off? I've only looked at them for a second and figure I should ask to save me hours of pain and misery . The second question is how in the heck dose the front windshield wipers come off. To clarify this is the part where the wipers attach to the rod that move's them. If that made any sense. The manual states they pull off real easy. This is not the case. This has caused me plenty of grief to the point where I just took the windshield out with the wipers in place. You can see what I mean in my last photo update. Thanks for the help, and hopefully I can have another photo update by Thursday before I leave for a mini vacation with the wife.......

Re: 1967 F250 Restore
Since I have not posted in a while I should give a quick update. Well I POR-15 the frame and started the process of putting the suspension back on. During all of this my son was born and is now three months old. So the process was been a little slow and I keep getting called in to the station when I'm working on the truck. Also I've had made little mistakes here and there and ended up buying a little shop press. I hope to post some pics soon. Take it easy and I'll keep you ever one updated. Thanks...
