Is $10,000.00 worth it?

Post by walnut »

I know this is my first post but I need some info. I have the opportunity to put a bid in on a 1970 F-250 with a 360, 4 speed. It has been a fire truck all it's life and only has a little over 7,000 miles. This truck is in perfect condition with no dents or dings and the under side is just as clean as the top. I'm being told that $10,000.00 will get the truck. Do you think $10,000.00 is to much?

need some pictures of the truck. It's really hard to have a $10,000 bump but unless it is in as such great condition as the truck linked to above, then it can be worth it..

I Photoshopped the door so not to give it away of where this truck is from. The paint is perfect.

I think its worth 10k personally. Especially if it comes with all the fire equipment. Its really pretty imo and looks like it was kept in a fire station all of its life. It will likely be cleaner then any resto you could do for the same amount of money.

To restore a back yard find to that condition will be way over $10,000. :D If it's in the budget I would definately buy it. This is easily an investment and keep your labor dollars in your pocket. :2cents:

What would be your plan for the truck?

If you want a collector, probably worth the asking price if you have the resources to keep it - a temperature controlled garage and a big check book.

If you want a weekend driver, then probably not.

That is a good looking truck! The question is, is it worth 10K to you? If it is what you want and you have the funds, I say go for it.

Some people may overlook the fact there are many discriminating fans of these trucks that know what they want and are happy to pay for it.

If you know what you're looking at, that is that the truck is in near showroom condition, then you'd be very lucky to get that truck for $10K. Odometer aside, check it out well. it could be pretty cut up from fire equipment.

Perfect examples of Bump 4x4's are very few and far between.

I'd buy it if I had the money and need. Heck, it still has the original dealer key fob with it.
