Everyone ok?

Some people in Austin (Oak Hill) lost their homes. A rancher on the forum below frantically trying to evacuate his 60 horses.

They have mobilized two teams from our county and region. As soon as there is a request for federal help, Ft. Hood will likely be next to go. There has also been teams mobilized from all over the state as well as other states. There is federal and state forestry services and aircraft from around the state and country. These fires are epic to say the least. Everyone pray for rain because we are in dire need.

The fire in Austin was not near as bad except it was in a metropolitan area. A homeless man started a camp fire to cook and left it burning or smoldering unattended.

And last week when the winds were out of the north, all of that somke came down into our area. We actually had people calling 911 reporting smoke in their area when in fact it was from a couple of hundred miles away.

There's also been a fire going on in west texas since last thursday. So far it's burned over 150,000 acres. Thankfully no one has been hurt and no homes have been burnt down.

edit: just ready the article. whoops.

Go give this a look:

We been battling fires in the Panhandle of Texas for a few months now and the weather service doesn't forecast an end to the Fire Weather Dangers until August. We still have people in shelters after losing their homes in fires in February. Been a rough spring for the Panhandle. We're praying for a little relief from Mother Nature. We need to get rid of the 60 mph winds and get some rain.

Here we go again in the Panhandle of Texas. Had a large fire Northeast of Amarillo yesterday. it burned about 700 acres around the town of Sanford. Please pray for rain for our area.http://myhighplains.com/fulltext/?nxd_id=194167
