Hate to say it Craig, but thats the way things are going. In the not-too-distant future, you wont be able to get paper statements for any accounts. With banks and credit card companies (just to name a couple) pushing the paperless movement, offering incentives like reduced fees or no fees for getting electronic statements/other documents, it's going to get more common place with other businesses/industry.
I filed my taxes this year with several 1099's and one of my two W-2's being electronic. I just printed them as well as saved them to the hard drive, and also burned all my tax stuff to a CD just for redundancy.
