Best shipping method

I need to get a steel grille from Ohio to Texas. What would be the most economical way to do it? Has anyone ever used Greyhound? UPS wants $157 and Greyhound only $79 - but it would arrive at 4 am on Greyhound and I don't want to be at the bus station at 4 am.

it depends on what kind of drop off station it is. if its a full service place or just a bus stop. or if someone could be there when it gets dropped off. greyhound does sound like the better deal.

Ryan(1971Ford) and I did this greyhound deal,Cal. to NY(Rochester) with no problems well maybe a little running around on both parts. If it's coming to a bus station...it'll be in lock up and proper ID will retrieve it,but I don't think it works that way anywhere else. Reading over Greyhounds guidelines, it doesn't sound bad at all. Actually seems pretty easy for the most part.

I had a heavy flywheel shipped to me by Greyhound after a machine shop messed up the old one. Besides having to go to down town Charlotte at night to pick it up it was painless.

That is great. I would hate to have to go down town San Antone to pick something up. Been a long time since I was there but back in 83 I would of hated to have to go there. Back then the river walk was the most dangerous place around. Lived in Live Oak and Universal city a combination of about 4 years and never went to the river walk.

Oh, it's cleaned up a lot since then. I work downtown about a block from the bus station. I've walked around downtown until about 10 pm with no problems.
I feel safer downtown (because of so many tourists) than I would on the west or east sides.

I helped a friend buy a grille for his dentside. '79 F150. Can't remember the details of where it came from but it shipped in via Fedex and cost, IIRC, about $60-$70. Arrived in pretty good condition although one of the mounting tabs got bent in transit. A few years ago I had a Ford 3.03 transmission shipped from Kansas to Georgia via DHL and it only cost $40 shipping. I actually had the company I work for set up an account with DHL and had it billed then paid them We kept the account and still use them occasionally, although rarely.

I've heard some good things about Uship.com. It's kind of an ebay for shipping, lowest shipping bid wins. who know, may find someone going that way.

The best method would be me! Lol just kidding.
Be careful of uship. Things disappear. If using the service, settings need to be where you pick through. I do haul from uship when I have trouble catching a load out from the left coast and often haul below cost to help pay fuel east.
