:( So Sorry to hear. We lost three last year, my wife's two Shelties Misty and Gus 14 &16 and my black lab Star who was 12or 13. Tough tough year, but we are very thankful to have been blessed for so long with such great companions. Your right cowboy, they are part of the family!

Sorry to hear that, I know it tears you up. I still miss my truck riding buddy, and Sailor has been gone around 3 years.

Also sorry to hear of your loss.
Most folks don't realize that to most of us who have dogs, they are much more than just a dog!
Way...too smart. Companion is a much better word than "pet".

Can appreciate your loss... Some of the "best people" I've know in my life were my dogs.

Thorn1968, Travis would miss you the same as you miss him. My dad passed away in october and i adopted his shepard, Everytime i go to my dads house with the shepard he runs around everywhere and looks for my dad. After 30 minutes of looking and not being able to find him he sits at the door and starts howling. Dogs think the same of there best friend as there best friend think of them.

Rotties have such a deep devotion, drive and spirit. They are amazing pals. Boxers are about as close as I've seen to a Rottweiler, but Rotties are special because of their extensive capabilities.
They also take a special kind of owner, who is balanced, strong, determined and patient.
Sorry to read of your loss.
Hope you get another buddy real soon. Not as a replacement for Travis, but as a new friend.
Nothing can "replace" Travis.
A day without a dog, is like a day without sunshine. They really brighten our world. :)

BTW: there was a huge Rottweiler rescue down in Texas about a month ago (something to do with a puppy mill that was shut down IIRC). If you don't want to do the "puppy thing", and are interested in adopting, send me a PM. I may be able to get some details for you.
