Repair Manual

Post by billbates40 »

So I'm sure that this has been brought up before, but I'm looking for a repair manual (Haynes or Chilton). They seem to make a 1972-1979 ford trucks, but I'm having a hard time finding one for my 1972. I'm sure that over 75% of the information in both are the same, but I'm wondering if anyone has some better information for me.

I overhauled the engine and have done other work on my 71 4WD using "Clymer Super Shop Manual for trucks." Ford 4-Wheel Drive Full size F-Series Pickups & Bronco 1969-1987

Here's a couple of two wheel drive versions:

I have a set of Ford shop manuals. They can be pricy on E-bay but I waited and found a set for under $50.00 You may want to save a search on E-bay and see if one comes up that fits your budget.

For general maintenance and repair, brakes, tune-up, ect. This one will serve you well. If you are going to rebuild the motor, or tranny yourself you may want the more in depth shop manuals.

You could also try Mac's Antique Auto Parts.com. They have a lot of stuff over there. When I start on my '67 Merc I'm sure they will put me on the board of directors for ordering so many items.
