pretty sure i could part it and make that back pretty easy. are the bed and tailgate good? it's pretty easy to nickle and dime a parts truck. sometimes it takes a while, but i usually come out alright. or were you gonna drive it?

i need to see the cab mounts and under the floor before i would decide. look at the inner fenders too. i do see fender rust holes on the drivers lower corner. look behind the hood hinges too. scrap wieght around here is 175 a ton. that truck weighs 2 tons plus a little. with dirt and so forth. so a scrap truck will pay $350.00 at the scrap yard. the aluminum wheels are worth quite a bit. for reuse. especially if all 4 are there.

what is the box worth to you? 100 150? then what can i make from 1-2 tons scrap and what about the little parts? i personaly think if the trim is all there and in DD condition you could sell it to someone for no less than 100 for the beltline trim itself.

and go from there.

The next question is how would you move it? If you had it towed out of there that is a couple hundred more dollars. A decent bed and tail gate will fetch 500 dollars in the right area, so if it is good than it is worth it. The wheels would get some money too. The rest would be on a case by case basis. Any word on why the 302 doesn't run?

IMO you could get your money back easily from it. Selling the bed / tailgate / and the trim alone should fetch 5 bills back.

I'm voting to get it, but do you have a place to tear down and store the sellable parts off of the truck? It looks to me like you could recoup much if not all of the cost of the truck and have the bed for free. Maybe not free, but much less than you'd pay for just a bed. Looking forward to yourthreads in the parts for sale forums.

I paid $300 for one in a lot worse shape but saved a ton from what I scavenged for myself. I'm working on a resto on my '70 and I've got a hefty shopping list so if you get, post it and I'm sure I'll probably help you recoup some of your investment. Especially pics of the front, back and interior.

$500 negotiable? I don't see trampled grass, so It doesn't look like buyers are lined up there for it. I'd go with 4 crisp $100 dollar bills and show him 3.... 4 if I had to. Usually this is where I pull out the puppy dog eyes and convince them I really want "that" but "$X.00" is the best I can do. if I haul out the extra $100, I let them know I haven't another dime and my little bride's goin to have my u know what in a sling. and then walk if the answer is no. I usually only pay asking price at places like Walmart.....or for no brainers.

Not sure what towing runs in your neck, but here it's $40 to put it on a flat bed and free miles IN TOWN. you should call a yard or two and ask, also ask if they flat rate. If you, or anyone you know has AAA+, they'll cover it as well as long as the AAA+ member is with the truck. Either way, know the cost. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have that information with you and let the seller know in your negotiations the cost of getting it out of there.

You want it for a driiver or parts? Looks like a pretty complete truck, minus a grill, how's that front bumper? (I can't find a decent one anywhere) I see cab lights, trim, ....glass looks good (is that a slider in the back window or a gun rack??) I've probably got $200 in my interior and it's still not complete.

I'd go for it. I have bought several trucks to part out and 500 is about the max I'd go. I bought a F350 for 400 and had to have it towed for another 100 bucks but I have a perfect 72 grill, core support, PTO trans, and lift mechanism for the dump bed not counting misc. other parts that are good. The grill and core support were enough for me to buy it because I need those items. That truck looks to be in fair shape and if you got it running without a lot of work then it could be worth twice what you paid for it.
