Aw thanks for helping him out! It just breaks my heart to think of someone abandoning their dog like that. That pic of him sitting next to the gate just looks like hes waiting for his family to come back My dog Samantha was dumped TWICE before I adopted her from the shelter at 10 months. She was a handful when she was a pup but I love her to death

My wife and I decided to adopt a stray rather than buy a puppy (we already had 2 Shih-Tzu's). We found a totally scrawny little Shih-Tzu cross (?) that had been found outside in Calgary back in February 2010. He was a mess and very close to being starved to death, as they figured he had been out for over a month in VERY cold tempuratures with no food! Animal Services (where we found him) cleaned him up, "fixed" him, shots, etc. and after a month he was up to 10 lbs (when we first saw him). our hearts went out to him, and we got him for our own! That little guy has thrived at our home, and he now rules the roost!

We never knew his real name, so we named him Ozzy. It took a while for him to respond to that name (every once in a while I will try calling him a number of other doggie names to see if he will respond....but no luck), but he answers all the time now.

These little guys give back more than they receive! If you get the chance to change a stray dog's life, do it! You will never regret it!
