I was thinking "Nice Looking Stocker" until I saw the door panels and dash cover... it lost my interest from that point on...
A little pricey but not bad...

Re: whacha think of this price?
Lets see, Its a SWB. That makes it a little more rare than a LWB. Its the 302 which is rarer but seems like it is less desirable than an FE. The truck seems solid on the outside but underneath might be a different story. Honestly, the seller doesnt give much info on the truck and only shows one picture. That makes it hard to reasonably guestimate the value. I think 6000 seems steep but I also own a bump that I only have 950 in so far. Its really all about your preference. But there are other bumps out there that might be in worse shape but are worth the little more effort but lower price.

Too rich for my blood. Looks like a nice truck but it's really hard to judge with the pics. For $6000 I would expect it to be a jaw dropper.

I was thinking it was a little steep too. I am not interested in buying. Trying to sell my 71 donor truck and have lots of money in th 70 project-in-progress. Just saw the ad and was wondering what others thought. I like the stock look too, those dooe panels are a little much for my tastes too.

Re: whacha think of this price?
Well, I definitely am not feeling the dash pad or door panels. I wouldn't expect to get a "jaw dropper" for 6K either, though. Everything I've seen for the 6K range would have a freshened up motor, nice paint, and a clean interior. Definitely would NOT be a show quality interior, would NOT have an expensively upgraded drivetrain, would NOT have been a frame off restore with all new bearings, seals, brakes, mounts, and pretty much anything you can think of replaced. Maybe it just takes more to make my jaw drop.

Re: whacha think of this price?
Everyone thats ever sold anything knows their not going to get the asking price and im sure thats why hes asking $ 6,000 for it. Its a nice looking truck as far as the stance and body&paint. But the interior is styled for 1972 and would have to go IMO. I think he'll get a little over 4 for it depending on how the engine runs and looks under the hood.

Re: whacha think of this price?
consider this. how much will it cost you to get your truck in that condition? now is the truck worth it or not?

Re: whacha think of this price?
no its not worth $6,000 IMO, closer look at it my raise the value some but would still have to spend $1500 changing the interior in it.fordman wrote:consider this. how much will it cost you to get your truck in that condition? now is the truck worth it or not?

Re: whacha think of this price?
those door panels arent that big odf deal to me. the dash pad could be replaced with a new one for around 500.00 shipped. to me its rust under the body i would worry abou tmore. and then engine size and condition. and then it isnt a 68 or 69. so that detracts for me.

Re: whacha think of this price?
I'd have to get a good look at the truck. If the underbody/running gear looked and ran as good as the rest of the truck looks, I think I might go with 5k. As for the dash, if you were in the early 70's and wanted to customize your interior, chances are you'd do something close to that. It looks period and, to me, it looks cool.
I wonder if it has the whole Ranger package or just the grill?
would have to agree with fordman,, I'll probably end up spending close to 4-5k just to make my truck look and run that good (supposing it runs that good). not to mention time and effort. For me, the time (and patience) is the worst thing. To me, the question is do you want to take the time go to the store and buy the hamburger meat, make it into a patty, grill it, cut your own fries and deep fry them for around $3-$4 and lose your rear on your time invested.... or just hit up the burger joint and spend a few extra $'s. I've done both
