bank threats

Post by fordman »

the bank called today. i guess we are three house payments behind instead of only two like i thought. seems they said it was being turned over to the attorney. i sure hope we didnt miss out on getting the payment in there. but we had to eat between paychecks. so i guess i will skip a few meals to get this taken care of. i hope i dont have to get a lawyer. there are a few things we can throw back at them if they go ahead with it. but still if we pay a lawyer we wont be able to catch up on the payments either. mother fckers.

Have you tried the program Obama started to help pay the house payment? Supposed to reduce your interest rate down to about 2% and the payment about in half. Of course nobody I know has ever qualified for it. My sister is loosing the house I grew up in with in the next month and she couldn't qualify but maybe you can

Sorry to hear that Craig. :( I hope you can get things back on track. Bankers are a different sort of folks. They want their money but rather than work with borrowers who hit bad times they would rather foreclose then take a huge loss on a sherriff's sale or pay taxes and upkeep on a property that may remain unsold for years. I just can't seem to find the logic in that. :hmm:

we made three payments today. we are broke now. i went out and found soem scrap metal tonight. but it wasnt very much.
as far as this obama plan. it is mainly a loan modification. well that has been around for years. obama just change the qualifications for it. i think that may be all he did. but it wasnt anything that sounded like it would be something i would even do. there were some other stipulations added in there. i am thinking as long as they dont return the payments. then we are scot free from any action. but that still leaves the roof and the taxes before sept 1. or its off to the sherriff. i need

to make some money is the real deal. i have some plans. but so far no word as to whether i am going to get the ok to do it. it may bring in a couple of hundred maybe. hopefully i can get rid of some parts too. that always helps. even though it is only 10.00 more or less at a time. i dont know. whats going to happen. i keep checking here and there for this and that. but i cant get anything done to make money. i lost two sales in the last two days. i have a bump trailer that is going to be bought in two weeks though. those are my plans as of today.

Craig,

Like you and clint said it is really only a loan modification. The ex and I were going through it, (same trouble due to her being out of work/etc). The good part of the modification is the lowering of the interest rate and the possibility of also lowering the amount of time you pay off the home. Going from a 30 year to a 15 year mortgage alone can save you a lot...of money in the long run!
I too hope it all works out for ya'll, Lord know you deserve it my friend.

I know I know, lol I was being a little sarcastic but honestly I have one sister about to loose her house and she got approved for the program. Dropped her interest rate for around 6% to 2% and her payment from around $875 to around $400.
I do not know any other details. My other sister that bought the family home is trying to sell it to keep from loosing it and they will not help her at all. I don't understand why as she is way behind in the payments. Basically it is in foreclosure and if she can sell it before a certain date she can get around being foreclosed on.
Still might be worth looking into. It might not be as bad as his Cash For Clunkers deal.

well with my deal only having 18 months left to pay. dropping the intrest rate wont do much. because most of the payments i am making now are mostly principal payments. i have paid most of the intrest payments at the beginning of this loan. that may be why i didn tgo for it. plus i think they are wanting to get an aprasial doen during the process which adds another 40.00 to what would be due. and then there are other fees to pay. it wasnt in my best intrest at the time to do it. that was last winter. i havent heard from them since we made the payments. i was lucky we had enough to make all three payments. but i am pretty sure we only owed two payments. i have yet to recheck the records. junes payments was due yesterday. and will be considered late on the 19th. we can possibly make the payment. but maybe not other bills. internet phones electric and have money for food. we have turned off two of three telephones the cable tv. no insurance. everything except the basics.
