I love that hood ornament. It reminds me of the 80s in SoCal.

That body is in great shape.

How is the rust situation?

Looks like a very good starting point on it. Good find.
I have never been able to rent a trailer or even a tow dolly from U-haul here in NC. My truck is not able to haul even a tow dolly according to them. I have a 460 with disc brakes and a bolt on type IV or whatever hitch I bought from them and my little F100 won't tow their little dolly. lol The SHAME! lol I even tried my dad's 93 F150 and they wouldn't allow me a dolly using it either. They wanted me to rent their truck to pull their trailer. No thanks.
Good luck on getting it home. I think you'll find somebody close to help if you have not already

Please take that duck off the hood as soon as you are physically next to it.

I towed a parts bump @ about 4,000 lbs on the tow dolly with my 71 F-100 302/3 speed manual. A little adventuresome, but it pulled just fine!

nice truck ! the duck and the bumper titties certainly add a little old-man vibe to it,but they also mean that the truck likely hasn't been kicked on too hard ( keep the duck- its just plain funny)
- still got my first first car 20+yrs later : 69 f100 sorta kinda pretending its a Mercury M100 w/a 70 f350 sport custom cab (factory buckets) 67 grille with 69 ranger cooneyes 68 merc box and hood, some supercool fiberglass fenders i scored way back when, 76 f150 disc brake frontend..currently running a 90 5.0HO 4bbl/c4 auto & 3.50 posi...originally a 360/c6 f100 Ranger with dealer added towpack (incl. kelsey hays trailer brake),boxside toolbox, behind the seat stowage & belly tank...only original parts left on 'er are the frame, rear end, rear springs, and rear bumper...

Looks good but I think it hit a bird. Its plastered to the front of the hood!! Mine had one too when I got it. It had to go. Great looking truck. Itll make a nice ride. And its my favorite year. Love the68's and 69s.

Yeah, the body and frame seem to be solid. There is one tricky spot to repair, top left rear corner, where a camper kissed the Bump and left a crumpy crunch right on the curve. The only rust I've found so far is 2 tiny surface spots where the paint is less than thin. Overall, the paint is pretty dull.

I still have not turned the key. Bought a new battery. but I left it on the porch. The plan is to check out the mechanicals after the holiday... we'll see what we have to work with....

You know, I kinda thought the same thing. But there is something nagging at the back of my mind. This truck has a fifth wheel in the bed and and, supposedly, never saw snow, which I believe, and, was parked in the barn after it's owner got an F350 to better haul his camper. So....why was it really parked? We'll find out next week. Still haven't heard from Lady Ga Ga...

That CB rig is a real bonus. Even before I came across this Bump, I was on the lookout for an old school CB. I just smell something in the air, that we just might need them again so we can talk to each other. That feeling is what attracted me to this Bump. 1969 and before should be resistant to an EMP surprise.
