I kind of liked the build till I saw the front end.

At that point it looks unbalanced to me.

While the quality work looks nice, and the concept pretty unique. Somehow its just misses the right look for the front. I am thinking if he bobbed the front of the truck, and really got everything in nice and close. Then it may lookk right to me atleast.

It is not my cup of tea but I find it very interesting and really thinking outside the box. That is what I love about this hobby, a vehicle can be anything you want it to be. For me I love the bumps as stock as possible and for that person something pretty radical. Probably due in part if I embarked on a build like that with the spare time I don't have, especially in this economy trying to hustle up work, I would be 90 years old when done. To me that is true Americana. Definitely would like to see the finished project.

Since this build made me want to actually see what my Bumpcrew Rat Rod idea would look like, I messed around with photoshop and came up with this.... This is a VERY rough idea of what I have in mind and like anything rat rod, things can be changed as you go. But I still think the basic idea of what I was thinking would look cool and be pretty original.

If only building it in real life was as easy as photoshop! lol

not bad but the rear tire still needs a fender over it to look right.

I think step side fenders on it would look pretty cool.

Not a bad idea... I toyed around with photoshop and step side fenders but could not make it look good with where the cab sits in this rendering. It might work if the rear axle was farther forward or if the cab sat higher. But they just dont sit right in this rendering. I did play around with some 1929 Ford rear fenders which I thought might work as well. Here is the rendering with the 29 fenders on it... Not too bad. Doubt I will ever get a chance to build something like this, but fun to imagine. :)

I dont need to "just say no" ala Nancy Reagan. The closest I would need is some help from Betty Ford at times. lol But the sad part is I am doing this completely sober and without any type of liquid influence! :)

I would NEVER deface a good Bump Crew cab to make something like this, but if I was ever in the position to bring a cab back to life that might be headed to the crusher due to the rest of the truck being beyond saving, I might be daring enough to try something as original as this. :)

my bro and I have a totally crapped out 52 merc m-3 cab and a mid 80's towncar chassis we've been planning on using for a rat project, the coolest thing about building one is that you don't need it to be perfect ...or even close to it ...

..as much as i like this guys concept ,i really don't understand why he bothered cutting & narrowing the box and then left the wheel openings there ....and I really dislike both the grille itself and the headlight placement - too much old Fordson or massey harris for my tastes

I like Calfdemon's bumpcrew rod idea, the modified crewcabcab fits the fake oldtime hotrod thing to a "T" ,and it looks fairly sorta goodish without fenders like a good ratrod should- but i really think that chivvy motor should be photoshopped out lol!
- still got my first first car 20+yrs later : 69 f100 sorta kinda pretending its a Mercury M100 w/a 70 f350 sport custom cab (factory buckets) 67 grille with 69 ranger cooneyes 68 merc box and hood, some supercool fiberglass fenders i scored way back when, 76 f150 disc brake frontend..currently running a 90 5.0HO 4bbl/c4 auto & 3.50 posi...originally a 360/c6 f100 Ranger with dealer added towpack (incl. kelsey hays trailer brake),boxside toolbox, behind the seat stowage & belly tank...only original parts left on 'er are the frame, rear end, rear springs, and rear bumper...
