Maybe you could use an earlier button, some of them look cool and will fit the 3 spoke wheel.
This is a '61 horn button that I may use if I stick an early wheel on my truck

Where the original horn rings chrome or just bright metal? I have two of them and neither one looks like it was ever chrome. If they were chrome at one time I can't imagine it all wearing off so evenly.

Since it was the higher end trucks/cars that got the horn ring, I've only seen them in chrome from Ford. There MAY be some that weren't, but I've not seen one.

The one that came in my '65 F250 Custom Cab was so badly tarnished, I thought it was a dull silver paint on it. After polishing it with Wenol, it's chrome shine came smiling back at me.

i have a chrome one now and have had several argent colored ones in the past. ford made both chrome and argent in buttons and rings. also some had solid cast centers and some had removable plastic inserts.

I think the chrome rings were limited to the slicks (61-6) and they switched to argent in 67 or 68. Possibly a safety issue for glare or maybe just economics; the wiper arms also went from polished stainless to argent during this time. Here's my spare...
