Build codes

Post by walnut »

I have been cleaning on my truck and started noticing painted codes on the body parts. I have found them on both fenders and the front support and the hood. Did Ford code each body part for installation on the right truck they were building? If they did I would like to find all the codes as im cleaning the truck for future reference.
These are the pictures of what I have found so far.

Looks like an inspectors dauber mark. I've seen codes stamped but never a name.

I've seen three '68s now with a name/date/shift final stamp on the firewall; two on the LH side above the master cylinder and one on the RH side above the heater motor. The RH one showed up on my own bump a little while ago when I was polishing the grunge off the firewall with Meguiars #2.
