That third rate wiring butchery on the RH inner fender sure doesn't resemble any factory harness I've seen and makes me wonder what else lurks under that shiny paint
Thats one heck of a splice job for the light on the hood. It looks like he spliced into the wires and ran it through a hole on the firewall to the hood. Thats factory original :nono:

I'm not a very good con man...what does doing that sort of thing do beside drive up the price? If no one "really" buys it, does he gain anything?

MAN! 6 days left and it is at $18,600. Somebody has to be bidding on it and not intending on buying it. I like the step sides but that truck is not that great in my opinion. My truck is just an old 71 F100 SportCustom I painted myself about 12 years ago and I would not trade it for this one even with several thousand boot. I just wouldn't do it. I can't wait to see what the outcome is.

I took a closer look at it. I didn't realize I could supersize the pictures. It is not even Mandrel bent tubing on the so called polished exhaust. I see what is said about the bed being crooked with the cab now. The hood is not even side to side either. The fender on the right side at least does not line up the the cowling edge.
I am about 99% sure the bed floor and bed rails are Red Oak. Any woodworker knows Red Oak sucks for an out side wood. It actually sucks as in once the finish breaks down it SUCKS in water. lol White Oak is much better but even that isn't great. Red Oak is NOT! What is up with all of the crusty looking paint on the bottom of the bed supports? $80,000? Somebody is vacationing on a nice warm tropical beach right now. lol

Again, misrepresentation of the word "restoration." The truck did not look like that from the factory, so it's not a restoration. It's a customization.

Just my $0.02.

Kind of like that Ivan Stewart Merc, 60g for a truck with a crooked front bumper. What is it with these guys? Is it like the humble quilt makers I hear of that will always put a small imperfection in their work? The more I look at this dang thing, the more stuff sticks out...'Doctor, my eyes...was I unwise to leave them open for so long'
That pic of the wiring hack job also shows he's using 70-72 inner fenders on it; the solenoid on 67-69 trucks is mounted about 1-2" lower. Could be the price is the going rate at Wallace-Coffman Ford of Galveston (name stamped into back bumper) to do your Ford...anybody in the galveston area care to do research on their connection? :D

If he has freinds in differnt states bid on it to raise the price it makes the truck look good to a buyer that other people want the truck and might get someone real to bid on it. If no one real bids then at the end of the the auction his freind says he dont have the money to but and ebay sends a warning to them and the owner dont have to pay a listing fee. But if the owner finds a real sucker to bid on the truck then he will be going :woohoo: all the way to the bank  . But the only thing thats got me thinking is the reserve on the truck, But i guess hes got a game plan hes letting play out.

It might very well be a business. He can say "look at what one of the trucks we did sold for" to customers.

Could be, but he's not making himself look like any kind of savvy merchandiser by spouting the obviously exaggerated claims he's been fed...

I think there is a mistake. I believe the seller meant to inform potential buyers that he/she paid $80,000 to put those pics on an eBay ad.

cdeal28078 wrote:$80,000? Really? That must include gas for him hauling it from shop to shop or something as I just don't see it. Sure it is clean and probably has a great straight body and paint but I sure don't see how he could have $80,000 in it. I myself don't really like it to be honest. That back bumper should be more narrow and at least chrome for that kind of money. I sure do not like the white air cleaner and valve covers. lol I hope he gets what he wants for it as it will help all of our trucks but will also drive up the prices of our parts
