68,000 orig miles..... that thing looks super clean on the inside.
Ya, been going through the costs. I'm more in the market for a rollback anyhow, makes life alot easier. Registration is no joke either. Have done my fair share of towing for others tho, and I know what a rollback can bring in a day. 2K+Reg. isn't a huge deal if you can stay busy.
Insurance coverage on a for hire tow truck is close to what the price is for a for hire dumptruck is. I had a quad axel dumptruck on the road two years ago and i was paying $8,000 a year for a million dollors coverage. I have freinds with wreckers and they pay a little less for coverage. My brother in law has a service station he took over from his dad and they have a 1970 F 350 wrecker his bought new and are paying around $2500 a year for coverage on it, The wrecker only sits in front of the station now and dosent tow much anymore but its 100% ready and legel if needed.
That's exactly why I'd be in the market for a rollback or two. A ton safer and quicker in my book than a sling or a stinger/wheel lift. Too many issues with drivelines, doesn't matter if you grab it forward or backwards yada yada yada. Plus, I could train a monkey to do it...almost.
I only pointed out the Bump Tow truck because I ran across it and thought it was slick.
Insurance is high costs up about 3500 a year,, rollback with a wheel lift is the way to go, just remember anything F-450 and up is needed when hauling 2 legally on weight cause can be overloaded with a 350,, We have carried many now on the wheel lift from the west coast to back in NC just when carrying one a wheel lift be sure its tied down good and we even put one strap pulling pressure down on front end to keep it from bouncing so much
