So far, I don't think Arizona is one of those states, but I sure hope it doesn't become one...
They don't do that in Texas.. Heck, my 74 F-100 has been unregistered, uninspected, and sitting
since 2007.. I've got it stored away in the garage.
Mainly because I didn't want to triple dip on the insurance. If I were to want to get it legal again,
all I have to do is sign an affidavit that the car has not been driven, and I pay just the current year
fees to bring it up to date. No way I would pay years of back taxes for a vehicle that hasn't been driven.
And I wouldn't buy a vehicle that required me to pay someone else's back taxes to get it legal.
Heck, my 68 F-250 had sat in a garage for three years before I got it.
I didn't have to pay any back taxes to get it legit.
I kinda miss not being able to drive the 74, but with the car, and the 68 truck, I just didn't
want to pay the extra fees and insurance for something I might drive once a month if that..
I've tried to sell it, but previous prospects keep flaking out on me.. Now I'm about to the
point I'd just as soon keep it just for parts if anything. A good number of the parts on it could
be used on the 68.. And some of those parts, like say brake pedal assemblies, clutch pedal
parts, etc, etc are getting harder and harder to find every day. But it's still totally intact at
this point. I wouldn't likely take parts off it unless I really had to.
