I've decided that when I finally get to do my truck 'my way', I would use POR-15, Rust Bullet, or something similar from Eastwood, etc. to cover both my interior cab floor as well as my exterior cab floor (over mostly bare steel). I would then like to follow it with sound deadening mats (Dynamat or similar) which do not need to cover every square inch and some insulation that will not absorb water like the original batting stuff does. I may look into 'Lizard Skin' for the insulation in which case I'd spray/roll that down prior to the deadening mats which may no longer be necessary as the 'Skin' is also a deadening material. This would then be followed by the body color. I'm undecided yet as to whether or not I will undercoat the bottom of the cab. I absolutely HATE the way undercoating turns gray and collects dust and dirt but that's me. In my opinion, you wouldn't gain any more sound deadening or rust prevention by undercoating the topside too.

Before all of this, I would also use seam sealer and I want to look into enlarging and/or creating any and all drain holes in the doors, cab corners, etc. to keep 'em from collecting water.

attached - they make sense to me but not sure about everyone else :(

i tried to show the measurement and then where i measured from - and have given the measurements between the holes etc - so if all match up- then the holes are in the right place

to orient you - the cab is lying on its back - so the top is the firewall.

this is a pdf file - stored on google docs and is quite safe to open.

Thanks Stephen, I appreciate the effort, but the link isn't working for me. :?

But I did find a good "before" photo on your thread of the driver's side, and I have a decent "before" shot of the passenger side. So between that visual evidence, Patrick's measurements and locating advise, I'm much more confident I can get the mounts close.

I would be able to knock them out this weekend, but it's July in Missouri, and Float Trips take priority!! :hd:

Oh - and I figured I'd post this here as well - I need a patch panel but it seems all midwest trucks have a cancer issue in this exact spot!

Hey guys, sorry for short break. I use my shop to build badass patrol cars when the work comes up, so I had to push the bump to the side for a bit. But that work is winding down, and I got a day last weekend to work on her.

I finally got the floor pans and cab mounts welded in! Thanks to you guys for your help and suggestions. :thup:

Seems like this freaking cab has been on it's back longer than my high school girlfriend, but soon it'll be shot with epoxy primer, top-coated, and flipped upright. I need to make a cab dolly of some sort to make it a little higher and easier to work on.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the comments. After the short break, I've got a new found bit of motivation to make some progress. This road is proving to be much longer than I originally thought, but that just means the payoff of the finish will be that much sweeter! :thup:

These kinds of projects always take longer than expected or planned and typically take more $$$ than originally planned too! But you're right...the payoff and pride that you will most surely have will be sooooooo sweet! Keep it up dude! :thup:

Got my cab dolly built yesterday! We'll see how it works as soon as I can find some help to wrestle the cab up on there.

Before that I would brace up the front and back like you did the sides. Maybe even another brace in the center and more casters. But maybe I'm paranoid
