Whats it worth? 1970 farm and ranch special

Post by 67 ford f100s rule »

So I looked at a 1970 F250 with either 390 or 360 its got a 4 speed. It is a farm and ranch special. It has no bed and the engine needs rebuilt. The cab is shot but the fenders are perfect, the hood is really solid. The inner fenders need work. It is just a parts truck. The rear end has no leaks. The tranny shifts alright. What do you guys think its worth?

Probably not much more than scrap value, $200.00 to $400.00 tops. The Farm and Ranch emblems, if intact and in reasonably good condition, will bring you a few more bucks...$25.00 to $50.00 tops for the entire set. Some Farm and Ranch emblems are decals only and if I remember correctly, 1970 was the only year for 'hard' emblems on the cowl.

The guy had it posted for 600 but told me 450. Then he showed me some 1970 inserts that were really good. I asked him if he would throw in the inserts for 475 all around. The farm and ranch emblems arent in very good shape. They are indeed "hard" emblems.

there are several ways to look at it. a F250 stylside weighs around 6000 pounds. with the bed. the rear half of the F100 frame and bed weighs around 600 pounds. as made into a trailer. two months ago scrap around here was 190 a ton. guess the bed at 250-300 pound with tailgate and all that. so to round 300 pounds. that makes the turck weigh about mayeb 5-5500 pounds. just guessing. so 2 1/2 tons. x 190.00 = 475.00. and no parts get saved.

option 2. how much is the truck worht in parts only? the fenders should bring 1-200 depending. the misc part maybe 100 depending on options and radio. then yo ucan either scrap the rest or make a trailer out of the rest of it. so you could possibly make money with all your money back. or keep a few parts sell a few and scrap the rest of it.

A 1970 F 250 is only 3800lbs, I dont think i would pay over $350 for it because when you add your time into the deal and the amount of money you would have at the end you would get a few dollers but not much for your time spent. Heres a link to show weight of the truck. http://www.fordification.com/tech/dimensions.htm

as it sits that truck will weigh around 3500lbs and at 250 a ton which is the local price it would be worth $437.50 plus an extra $30 or so for the radiator
