Well today I turned 16 and tomorrow morning I get my license provided that I pass the test.
This afternoon my parents took me to the localish speed shop and I ended up walking out with a shiny holley fuel pump and some headman headers. After reading the literature that came with the headers I'm a little un-happy that the paint will most likely burn off within a few minutes and then of course rust comes... But you get what you pay for. Any tricks to keep the paint on and rust away? Or should I just use these and get some stainless steel or ceramic ones in a few years when I have the money? Pics to come of course..

Happy birthday dude sweet score at the parts store. Good luck with your test tomorrow but as far as the header situation goes I really can't help sorry.
The iron never lies and 200 pounds is always 200 pounds
Congrats on turning 16! Good luck with the test tomorrow as well . As for the headers it seems that most people I've seen with the painted headers have rust on them and they're painted with pretty high temp ceramic stuff. Maybe you could get them powder coated? I'm sure someone will chime in though. Good luck again!

Well Happy Birthday young Man!! Nice score on your parts as well.
I do believe the socks I'm wearing today are older than you as I'm 3-3/4 times your age! Don't blink, it goes by quicker than you think...
...anyway, headers and rust go hand in hand in my experience. Oh you can coat them, wrap them, hell, you can even tell them you love them, but it's not going to stop the rust. You can spend money here http://www.zircotec.com/ if you'd like, but rust marches on...

Happy birthday. If only to be 16 again. Good luck on the test.

Why is it that the trucks are always the best running vehicles in the family?

Well I passed my driving test bright and early this morning and have been driving my truck on and off most of the day. Me and a buddy put on the new fuel pump and it seems to work great!
