wierd vin tag

i was just over at the 'Decode your VIN' page and i noticed that my DSO number
doesnt match anything on the decode page the DSO number on my tag is A48077
1967 Mercury M-100
240 i6
3.03 trans
3300IB 9" 3.70 Gears

That's because the Canadian DSO numbers are different than the US numbers. Your DSO breaks down into two parts: the A4 indicates a 'midwest' (Manitoba, Saskatchewan) Lincoln/Mercury dealer and the 8077 would be the order number.

the vin on my f100 is even weirder as it was assembled in Sydney Image
