Re: 72 ltd 2 door opinions
i just love how people think their old car is worth 5 times what it should go for .....
I grew up in those old LTD's...they rode nice(ish)...not really a luxury car, more like a taxi than a limo ...actually calling it half luxury is really fairly accurate.....and as for half muscle car - LMAO! nice try!
400's were total sucky pigs in those years (and thirsty ones at that) and i really doubt that engines been breathed on at all the AC is missing and the radio don't work either....plus -notice the lack of an interior shot? thats cuz its probably beat to hell and puke green -
even tho' i like those old suckers i wouldn't pay more than a grand for one and a few hundy less than that for this one

Re: 72 ltd 2 door opinions
I wouldnt give that much for it myself.Id say thats a $500.00-$800.00 car. I dont like the color. Yeah it could be painted but do you want to put that much more into it? I have to agree with Whateverman the interior is most likely shot and or ugly as green crap. I dont always agree with people on the 400 though my 76 cougar has the factory 400 in it and all I did was remove all the smog system have true dual exhuast wuth glass packs slap in an early 351c timing set and bolt on a 4bbl carb. the car is fast for something that weighs just under 5,000 lbs and has given many smaller newer and lighter cars a run. Also I am not getting to bad of fuel milage with her. Oh I forgot one thing though about the 400 they dont do to well on regular fuel they spark nock and suck your tank dry fast. Mid grade you can run most of the time but high grade they run like a top and you will see the most power and economy out of it. Thats my $.02

The word "fast" is very open to personal interpretation.

Re: 72 ltd 2 door opinions
True. Havent been able to run it on quarter so I have no substatial evidence to back it up. But I do like taking down Dodge Rams with it. (I am really not a Dodge guy) And those dang Mazda 3's do those guys really think their cars are all that. But I probably been running against all the slow cars in my area.woods wrote:The word "fast" is very open to personal interpretation.

I think you may have a low hillbilly ratio in your area if you're beating rams.

Fast is an accurate term in some cars if everyone else is sitting still.woods wrote:The word "fast" is very open to personal interpretation.

Nah, but all of my buddies still do. They're in the VERY fast over 40 crowd now. I've had three knee surgeries, C3 compression fracture and 6 concussionswoods wrote:You still ride?BobbyFord wrote:I used to race mx/sx, I separated from my bike in the air after a sixth gear, WFO straight-away...not sure how fast I was going but when I hit the ground it felt like mach 6woods wrote:I jumped out of a Jeep once that was only doing 20 mph...that seemed fast.

Raced with some fast boys, though...Jeff Ward, Johnny O, Holley, etc., all of the fast SoCal guys.

Wow, you were in with "the in crowd" that for sure. I still ride, just a lot slower (it hurts now).

Hell, I haven't ridden a race bike in a while and it still hurtswoods wrote:Wow, you were in with "the in crowd" that for sure. I still ride, just a lot slower (it hurts now).

I remember one Friday night at the Dunes, there was a big pile-up in the hairpin before the drop-off, Donnie Hansen (father of Supercross star, Josh Hansen) was in the pile. We were pitted with the Hansen's, Jerry (Donnie's dad) and my dad were friends. I helped Donnie get his bike out of the pile and he was complaining about his hand hurting, I pulled one of his gloves off and when I did, one of the tips of his fingers was still in the glove

Those were the good 'ol days
