Looked up my '72. Added up all the options and the MSRP (according to the book) would be: $4331.70
Plus destination fee, local and Fed taxes.
So odds are...the old cab-chassis was less than 5K brand new. WOW. Couldn't touch a truck that can do what it does for that today.
(Odds are in 39 years anything made today will NOT be on the road!)

I really do love that old beast some days :D
