thank you for that, but im realy no good with diagrames.

i have been trying stuff for 2 hours and its starting to piss me off...

i have been trying new grounds, making shure they are all bare metal, i did a bunch of testing, i checked fuses, i even changed solenoids...but nothing still..it cranks over good but no spark or interior functions...

i did plug in the voltage regulator,it started buzzing and that made the dash lights go crazy, diffrent dash lights cane on when i turned the ign switch..

switch the red and brown wires on the solenoid. the truck will start right up no problem. i did that myself one time. and i got mad and left the forum because no one would answer me at the time.

wait what is that a coke can around the coil? i might remove that if you arent getting spark. if you are getting spark after swapping those two wqires. leave the coke can. it dresses up the engine a little.

the coke can may not be grounding good against the coil. that was all i was thinking. have you switched the wires yet? that should give you spark to get it to crank over and start. unless the coil ground is a problem. its probably only the two wires that got mixed up.

Maybe a weak battery, you might want to take it to the parts store to test it. :2cents:

dont think so..its brand new
and even if it was the battery..you would think that there would be something lit up in the cab..

Don't know how far you have gotten, but there is an inline fused link coming off the battery or the solenoid can't remember off of the top of my head. But if your using the original wiring harness, it should be a little orange section on one of the wires. Check and make sure your getting voltage to both sides of it. I had to replace mine when I did my body swap, I just put a regular inline fuse that I could replace if it decided to pop again.

main power comes into the cab from the harness rigth there around the solenoid. it goes over to the switch and i think may split off going to the fuse box. if the switch is working and turning over the engine power to the cab probably has something to do with either power coming from the switch to the fuse box. or in the fuse box itself. probably something to do with wire 37 or 21 on this diagram. http://www.fordification.com/tech/wirin ... gauges.jpg

fordman, if by "switch" you mean ignition switch, then no it isnt working, i have to jump the solenoid lugs to get it to turn over.

ford4x4fun, i will check for a fuse tomorrow. you mentioned you added a diffrent fuse, what amperage did you use?

I know where the connector for cab power is can i apply power directly to it from the battery to check if that makes the interior functions work??
