My car on TV

Post by Thunderfoot »

So last week was one of the biggest bracket races here in the NW the Nightfire here at Firebird raceway and I was out racing my 68 mustang at it and on Friday one of the local news stations was out doing a story on it and they taped my car leaving the starting line! :D You can see it here about half way through this video http://www.12ktrv.com/story/15254545/pe ... ected=true

I didn't make it to any money rounds but still had a good time.

Anybody know how to download this clip :? I'd like to have it for myself...

You'll either need some video-capture software designed to capture Flash video (FLV) or you might be able to save it from the cached version on your computer. Read this:

BTW, I use the Firefox browser with the FlashGot extension. Download the .flv to a folder of my choice. Then ,with no conversion needed, I play the file with VLC media player. All free and easy when using Firefox...

Thanks for that info, I have Firefox and remembered I have "download helper" which I was able to down load the video but I'm still messing with it as the sound didn't come with it... not a big deal there... I may try to add that video down loader and try it to. Thanks

Yes my user name is actually my car's name (I couldn't think of anything else at the time  ) here is a picture of the same car back in 83, click pic to enlarge.

I also had a Thunderfoot II which was a 74 mustang II and actually sold it and then bought it back several years later and have been re-building it from the ground up...

Unfortunately new motor this spring and the new rings never did seat completely :( I have never had this issue before but the machine shop did a "Plateau Hone" on the cylinders which made them way too smooth and the rings I got were not setup for that. I've put about 150 passes on it already this year and have been hoping they would eventually seat in, it has gotten better but I don't think it is going to get there... I 'll have to pull it this winter and fix it as it is kind of driving me nuts that it smokes. :hw: It hasn't affected the ET any so I think it is just the oil rings that are not seating up...

Cool!!!

Sorry to hear about the rings, sounds like "Plateau Hone" is a very smooth surface designed for low tension rings?

Andy Man got me pointed in the direction of a free Firefox add on called "Flashgot" that I was able to get it captured and it works great! :D
