injuries

Post by fordman »

thursday i think it was i made a trip to dads. and was using the torch while wearign my holy tennis shoes. and a sprak got in my shoe between my toes and then under my toes and fott. i got two small hole sin my left second toe near where my foot starts and a small hole in the second toe. then yeaseterday i was pulling soem wires and hoses down from the top of ahot water tank i have stored. and a gas filler neck from a 71 bump came crashing down right on top of that same toe. it skinned it up through my same holy shoes and socks. and may have made it swell up right there too. .

i was trying to sleep last night. and i was getting shootign pains every few minutes in my toe. unless i sat up on the side of the couch. i finally grabbed my third toe and pulled it towards my big toe. and the pain would go away. i finally ended up using white first ai tape to tape my second and third toe over towards my big toe so the pain would go away and i could sleep. but today. i have to walk funny to keep my toe from getting pressure on it while i walk.

well nothing intresting here. just thought i would not post a picture of nasty looking toes. so time to move on.

sorry that you hurt yourself like that ,hope you heal up quick fordman
.... I'm soooo fighting my shop foreman instincts that want me to give you a lecture about the tennis shoes  ...

getting burnt in between the toes is not fun, bashing the crap out of your foot when you've cooked part of it doubly so...thats why i love my steel toed welding boots
i should add : i still manage to burn the crap out of myself, but not as often as i probably should..
- still got my first first car 20+yrs later : 69 f100 sorta kinda pretending its a Mercury M100 w/a 70 f350 sport custom cab (factory buckets) 67 grille with 69 ranger cooneyes 68 merc box and hood, some supercool fiberglass fenders i scored way back when, 76 f150 disc brake frontend..currently running a 90 5.0HO 4bbl/c4 auto & 3.50 posi...originally a 360/c6 f100 Ranger with dealer added towpack (incl. kelsey hays trailer brake),boxside toolbox, behind the seat stowage & belly tank...only original parts left on 'er are the frame, rear end, rear springs, and rear bumper...

Nah, we wanna see a video of you walking! :P

Sorry to hear that...but it does come with the territory. I was pulling some parts yesterday at the U-Pull-It from a truck with a smashed-in windshield, and accidentally stuck my hand right onto a pile of tiny glass shards.  I spent several minutes pulling pieces of glass out of my hand.

Don't move the BBQ after you have had it started, while barefoot.. :nono: Just saying, the little hot coals will sneek out the bottom and your tender feet will find them. :cuss: The cool (HOT) thing is when they contact the bottom of your foot they burn in and will not just brush off. By the time you do dig them out of your foot the damage will be done.

Just saying!!!! :D

OUCH! That has to hurt! That's the trouble with feet.....you have to keep using them!

Try putting Polysporin on the burns and scrape. It will help it to heal faster, and disinfect the injuries. Then try taking an Advil (or equivilent) just before bed....to take the edge off the pain and keep the swelling down, so you can get some sleep.

I once accidentally kicked a plastic 20 gal gas can with a bare foot. I broke a toe and nearly tore the nail off! I had to sleep with that foot outside the bed covers for a couple weeks, because I couldn't stand the pressure of even a sheet against that toe!

"Time heals all ills", as they say! It just doesn't seem to happen fast enough, though, does it! :)

I hope your luck improves!

Well, let's see. I spent a Saturday afternoon in my friend's pool downing screwdrivers and rum-cokes. Now I have a vicious sunburn and have to sleep on my stomach... :D

so we are working this evening. and instead of my wife going around the truck. she tries to squeeze in between me and the other truck behind me. and what does she do. she steps on the end of my shoe. almost getting pressure on my foot. that was lucky. the skinned part of my toe isnt looking good at all.

Wow, Ok Fordman, no more threads about injuries because....

I JUST GOT STUNG BY A BEE DAMMIT.

And I think I'm allergic to them. He didn't leave his little present in my arm but it sure is a throbbing. Wifes birthday, stung by a bee while cutting wood, steaks are probably undercooked too. Man life sure has a funny way of coming at you all at once...
