Should Be Sleeping

Post by ford4x4fun »

But, I am not. It has been a long couple of weeks, I had my surgery to fix some problems, after the military decided that deploying me to sit on my but for 2 months was more important. So now about a year later after my actual deployment, I find out the doctors where not able to fix the damage the other doctors have done. Now last year my wife and I where able to do IVF, well in the last year my wife has reached an age where she no longer produces healthy eggs. So for the small price tag of about 20,000 dollars, we have a 10% chance of being able to have a child together. We have decided that taking away from our current kids isn't worth losing that much money so we can have one together. I know I shouldn't be upset there are people out there that haven't had the chance to have one child, but I still can't help but be let down. Now to top it all off the military is refusing to pay for the surgery I had and I ended up coming out of pocket for it. So now I am in an appeals process with the insurance company. Even though the military jacked me up, and after all my deployments I am not worth 6,000 dollars to them. Half of my team is still deployed, and this is what I get to read this morning.

It is all lies, but still now I wonder if me coming back to try to make things correct with mine and my wife's problem was worth it. I just don't know how things can just keep slapping me in the face. I left my guys behind in a crap hole country, so I feel like in a way i abandoned them. I can't give my wife the one thing she wanted, and now I can't shut my brain down long enough to get some sleep. And to top it all off my Unit just said they want me to deploy in March, I just got back in June from one of the worst places in the world. I can't wait till the pace of life slows down a little bit.

On a positive note though, I have never got to bring my son to school I know that this is his 4th grade year, and not his first year but I still get to bring him to school tomorrow, I am excited about that and that he has chose to live with me for awhile!

Welp, you get one ride on this big merry-go-round so you deserve to be pissed when inconsiderate folks meddle with your life. Sad the REMF base jockeys can't get a turn to play in the sand.

How many trips in how many years will this make?

I don't know seams like every other year since 2003... The funny thing is I just re-read the article, and they have completely reworded it. They had names of individuals in the vehicles and license plate numbers earlier today. Amazing what can be changed in a matter of hours!

Soldier, You have done What you were ordered to do, and what you beleive is right, i can't faulot you there. Good luck with this new Deploy. And the Unit you left behind are big boys and/or girls, They'll Handle.

I pray that you find a way to sleep. I am saddend by the turn of events with your healtth/ability to have kids with the wife. Have you discussed adoption?

The concern for your previous crew means you care and have a conciens.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~
