Custom Cab? Step Side?

Post by Effie »

Was Custom Cab used in '69? I thought they went to Ranger/XLT? I dunno, I'll be honest, past '66, I don't know much, then I pick back up around '78, lol.

Anyhow, I have a friend with a '69 Custom Cab short bed. He picked up a real nice step side bed and was asking me what the two tone paint scheme would look like on a Custom Cab Step Side. I told him I have no idea.

They offered custom cab step side, right? I think the ones I've seen, the bed was all one solid color...but maybe the truck was solid.

I dunno... I come to you gurus to learn me about two tone bumpsides. Thanks. :)

I know there was a custom cab trim level in 69 because my Dad had one. It was green with a white top. I have never seen a two tone step side bed but they could have painted the cab top another color like they did on some of the other trucks.

1970 was the first year for the Ranger XLT. Look up top and click on Identifying 67-72 trucks and it shows and tells each trim level offered for each year.Hope this helps.

Ok, thanks. My memory is shot and I wanted to post this while I had it on my mind and I was on my way to shut down and head out the door from work, so I didn't hang around here long to look for the FAQs and such. I'll check into it tonight... or whenever I remember again.
