Spa shade

Post by Mancar1 »

Spent yesterday putting up this shade for between the shop attached patio roof and the one comming off the house. Now during prime spa time the sun will not be glaring and burning me up.

Thanks for the comment BiggDogg. (I have some Big Dog Tees, good shirts.) It is a fabric called, Sun Screen Fabric. Home Depot carries it. It has a 5 year full refund warranty. Claims it provides 75% more shade. That sounds about right. I have had this stuff around the safety fence on my pool deck, and down the side of the carport for about 13 years. It is still strong, and has no tears or holes. That is why I used it this time. also I can still see the stars at night through it.

That turned out really nice. I'm thinking of using that roof material when we build our patio.

Thank you. I always take a lot longer planning a project than I do building it  Good stuff to use. Lets the rain through, but you can see the sky after dark.

I put some of those, (same color) up at my home in Central Florida to block the sun from the side of the trucks paint. Worked real nice.

Ya'll see what Mancar's doing here don't you? :D
He's blocking the view of the planes, so he can get nekkid with the young ladies!

That looks really good! I thought about getting one of those "sun sails" to put over my grandkids playground/sand box in my front yard. No shade and it gets really hot. Those pre-fab jobbies are pretty expensive. Does your material come with bound edges/grommets or did you wrap it around a trim board and nail it up?

I folded the edges double for added strength and stapled it down. That is the method I used on the side of the carport and on the pool deck fence many moons ago. It is still holding up well. No it doesn't come with grommets, but I guess I could use my kit for that and enstall some. Maybe I will try it with the 6' X 10" piece I have left over. Take it to work and tie it to trees, tractor, ect. Could have shade while I am placing stones or digging the end result of life holes.

Jeff, works for my aching back. Spa, the other just agravates the back. As well as the walut.

Your welcome Randy, and I know what ya mean I am always trying to find the time to work on the 68.

Yes Bumpside Collector it is a fun place. When Vicki and I found out she was passing I was going to give away the spa. She told me to keep it and enjoy it. I am glad I listened to her. She was right.
