opening the fuel caps
Turns out, none of my keys open the in cab or auxiliary fuel tank filler neck caps. I've been using a jug to feed the carb. Any body have a suggestion of a non-destructive method to open and maybe rekey these caps? They are original. I'd like to use them if I could.

You might be able to drill the lock out itself. i did this to one of my old cars an just replaced it with a new unit, be carfull not to punch all the way through the key thow dont need shavings in the tank

I don't know if it was a fluke that it worked but I used a timing gear puller on one with the pointed tip once because I dint have the keys for it. It worked believe it or not.

I take them off a lot. A small screwdriver or chunk of coat hanger down the side of the neck to depress the little levers and it will come right out.
