The service manager told me the Escapes haven't been having a known tranny problem. I told him to log onto Escape City and check out some of the posts.

Thanks, I will mention that to them.green68250 wrote:I have seen this concern a few times along with various other concerns with the new Escapes. I replaced the mechatronics unit (solenoid body/valve body) and flush the fluid very well and that seems to take care of the issue. Meaning none have come back. I have replaced quite a few of those tranny too for no reverse or melted clutches, they have all sorts of problems. Sounds like they don't deal alot in Escapes. I bet a mechatronics unit and a good flush would fix here right up.
I just put it in with Ford on Tues. The service rep said they would get it back to me next Monday or Tues. I was told they may replace the tranny. I told them to fix the problem as I do not want to end up with a new one with the same issue. That is if they can figure out what is wrong. I will mention the friction clutch to them. Thanks.basketcase0302 wrote:John,
I'm sorry that I saw this, but didn't have time to respond. Did you get your Escape back yet-and if so, what did they find in the tranny? I'd read the Escapes were having issues with the friction clutch discs as well as possibly a few other issues?
