Thinking on getting a on the concrete in front of the shop sand blaster. Any thoughts on what is best. I have a 5HP 26 Gal upright Husky Pro. 6.6 SCFM @ 40PSI, and 5.8 SCFM @90 PSI. 135 PSI Max. (Bolted a piece of heavy duty chaneled aluminum to the base so it won't tip over, painted to match, looks stock. ) About 20 years back I used a buddies. He had a 20 gal craftsman comp. and the blaster worked good. Don't remember what it was though. Just want it for blasting lawn mowers, automotive stuff, and whatever I can lay my hands on. Cat, Neighbor, ect. Just kidding
Well it might not be the best compressor for the job but it will work. Might have more time in waiting for it to build back up the pressure. I have an 11.1 scfm compressor and that isn't big enough to sand blast with or even spray paint with continuously to be honest. You can make do though.
A small sandblaster sure does come in handy I'll say that much. Even if you can only spray for a couple minutes and have to let the compressor catch up.

Sounds like I may just have a great excuse to get a BIGGER COMPRESSOR The only one I have to ask anymore is myself. Sooooo, Myself can I get a new bigger compressor? Why yes you can. I take my where ever I can get them. Thank you all for your input.

Robroy, the black diamond sounds like good stuff. I have a Tractor Supply 9 miles from me. I like the sounds of a pressure tank. I may do small parts for now, but it may end up a frame off on something one day. I better get to it, I'm not getting any younger. Thank you

Excellent! I think they're the way to go, and they're not much more expensive. Here's the one I bought: Eastwood 50lb Pressure Blaster They have similar looking units on Harbor Freight that are probably OK too, for even fewer bucks.

If you're going to buy a new compressor, a two-stage is the way to go. Much faster, and runs cooler so there's less condensation.
Regarding the blaster, you may as well pick one up while you're at Tractor Supply. That's where I got mine, and it's pretty much identical to the Eastwood except for the handle. Might even be built by the same company. You can save a few bucks on the TSC unit: http://www.tractorsupply.com/tools/sand ... ty-3999698

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

That Black Diamond is good product. I'm using it in my rebuild. Comes in two grits, 20-40 and 30-60. For a harsh job the 20-40 grit is good. If you use it blasting sheet metal, though, it leaves the surface pretty rough. The 30-60 fine grit does a good job on the things you need a smoother finish for. Wear adequate protection cause that 20-40 is like being pelted with BB's!
