Yea. i just feel a bit foolish to write in "no exhaust leaks". thanks for the advice though. I've been doing minor tweaks to get the engine to run better and what not so the updates have been slow. One thing that i (kind of) fixed was the dead spot at the bottom of acceleration. I moved the accelerator pump cam to the earliest setting along with tightening the cable going to the go-fast pedal. A little more tweaking and i should have all of the hesitation gone but i do need a smaller pump nozzle. it puffs black smoke when i romp on it. :oops:

New color scheme on the grill. I switched back to the 67 grill and went with rustoleom professional grade flat black. i'm going to paint the headlight covers soon to match. I also replaced the headlights with Silvania silverstar 4000 degree K bulbs. turns out they are a new style bulb encased in a sealed beam reflector.

note to self, make sure the carburetor studs are tight. idle vacuum is up to 19.5 instead of a fluctuating 16.

Took the cracked dash pad off and bam, green. i also touched up the hood to hide the primer i sprayed after some minor body work.

Started on a new rear bumper. It's the front bumper off of a 81-82? f100. i have it Mounted already but i the only picture of it that i have so far is of the mock up. only difference is that it's a half inch down from the bottom of the bed to allow dirt to get out and not rub through the paint. Eventually i'm going to cut 6 inches off the ends and box in a step on the side. I also installed a set of sunvisors and screwed down my dash vents.

I've got the bumper mounted now. it looks alright but it needs work to fit better. I got talked into polishing up my wheels a bit so i've got 3 done so far. all i'm doing as of now are the top surfaces of the spokes and the inner and outer ring. they look alright in daylight , but man do they pop at night. they catch light from everywhere. Tonight i got a wild hair and decided to shellac my headliner and fix a couple dents that were impairing the structural integrity of the roof. not as much rattle and the headliner finally had the screw in the middle! pictures when it gets light out.

well, i figured out some more of the ingnition. i had harvested a set of duraspark plugs from a newer truck. had the same number of pins ect. but it turns out the 2 prong plug was color coded backwards. red went to white and vice-verse. This had the constant 12v going to the timing retard for starting the engine. it's amazing it even ran! now she barely twitches at idle and has a good bit more power. she'll cruise up a 6 percent grade with pedal at 70.

Man, fit and finish was not on ford's mind with my truck. It must have been a Monday morning build...... both front fenders stuck out a bit on the front so i decided to bring them in to be flush with the edge of the hood. 4 hours later and some tweaking i got them damn close. Problem was that the top valence and the grill are both a bit wide. i had to trim the piece that goes across the top and about 4 bolts no longer line up. i know the grill is the right year and by the looks of it was is the core support so what's up? i've looked at the core support and it has some galvanization in spots. was this factory or has it been replaced? also i had to.... massage the head light bezels to get them close to lining up with the side of the fenders. the end result looks passable but it's bugging me that it was this far off. i have yet to get an after pic but here is a before. the fender stuck out between 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch out at the front.

Finally got off my @$$ and got some promised pictures.

Here's the after pic. it's not perfect but it's miles closer than before.

The drivers side was closer but still about a 1/4 inch out. here's the outcome

here's my shellacked headliner. it came out decent.

cleaned up the floors and spray bombed them. don't mind the pits.....

and the bumper. i still have to shorten it but that comes with motivation.

It's from the front of an 82 f100 that i scrapped a while back. i swapped the cut off frame horns and cut down a set of stock bumper brackets and welded them on. it turns out the spacing was just about spot on. It's going to be painted black at a later date and yes, i am going to get real bumper bolts later.

I think between the two of us we could build a truck. Your issue is hoods and mine is windshields. We might need a third partner. I don't have a good dash pad either.
